Ah, but you're forgetting Percy made gravy, under shell fire. This gives him carte Blanche to make the rules up, as he goes. One set for himself and another for everybody else. Despite the fact that he's a nout a pound lodger, with nothing to show for his life.
3:51 I get the distinct impression Lynne Perrie is a little bit worse for wear here i.e. not exactly sober! I know she was struggling with alcohol so I don’t mean to make light of it.. but what a sad ending to an iconic character.
I feel like I missed something key about Tanya in previous episodes? She seems like she's on some kind of vendetta against the people of the street. What a trouble maker.
I really don't understand why Sally is still going on about this accusation, she is making mountains out of molehill's. Everyone knows it is not true but she is still going on and on......tedious. I think she is just arguing for the sake of arguing now.
I'm really surprised to hear Emily sticking up for Tracy against Dierdre. There have been numerous episodes over the years when Emily has been judgemental about the notion of couples 'living over the brush', so when Tracy started doing that I thought she would have a fainting fit, specially as she helped Dierdre bring her up.
I know that The Rovers has always had Tardis like qualities, ya know small from the outside but once inside its quite huge. But the general rule of thumb is that it only had two bedrooms. At least that was the case in the days when Mrs Walker had the place and Alec (pre-Vicky) often made mention of having a room to rent. Now it appears to have 3 bedrooms. Bet's room, Vicky's room, and now Raquel has just wandered back in without a word to anyone, she also has a room.
Don’t forget about the huge function room ‘The Select’ that Mrs Walker used to rent out for posh dos! Where in the hell did that disappear to? Was it underground? Haha 😂
@@EveHenleySpread they got rid of the select in one of the remodels. Then in the last remodel where they got the new booths, they got rid of the ‘snug’
@Cheyne it happened at the exact same moment, after the fire in 1986 when the pub was refitted there was no mention of The Select or the The Snug ever again - but considering The Select was a huge room much bigger than the rest of the pub, it beggars belief that it just vanished into thin air.
I think you can tell Ivy ( Lynne Perrie) is half cut during some of scenes, its a slurring of her lines I thought in previous episodes she was slurring her words. I dont know when she left the show, but the producers put out the reason she was asked to leave was that she was getting Cosmetic surgery without asking the OK from the show. It was when she had lip reconstruction, that they had Had enough, Im not saying she did a Lesley Ash job but it did alter her looks Poor woman, even as prickly as her character was, she played Ivy very well. Regards 🇬🇧👧
I'm not sure how much more of Raquels silly voice I can take, it get's more breathy, drawn out and childlike by the episode. I like Sarah Lancashires acting usually, but she over egged the pudding here.
Martin complaining about having loads of kids when he pretty much forced himself on Gail and threw a fit when she said no the first time. Such a twat 😂
She had a nervous breakdown and was written out, Mel B had to stand in for the last scene with Andy. I guess she turned to drugs to help her. Bless her soul.❤
I was finding the Amy & Andy storyline rather odd, it didn't seem to make a lot of sense from a show & audience point of view, so I looked up the actress playing Amy, Louise Duprey & unfortunately I was right, here's her wiki entry..... Duprey had been set for a long run in the serial with her character being due to marry on-screen love interest, Andy McDonald. However, in late 1993, just as the wedding scenes were about to be recorded, Duprey suffered a breakdown and was sent home on leave. After it became apparent that she would not be well enough to return to the programme, a storywriters' conference was quickly convened and scripts redrafted. In the programme, viewers saw the engagement between the characters of Andy McDonald and Amy Nelson being hurriedly 'broken off' with another actress, Melanie Brown, being used in the final scenes to play the part of Nelson. Thereafter, Duprey withdrew from the limelight altogether, moving back to her native Liverpool, and became increasingly reclusive. In February 2000 she was found dead in a converted 1930s detached house in Mossley Hill near Liverpool University from a drug overdose. She left one daughter, Marcelle (b. 1976)
So tragic. I knew she had had a nervous breakdown, so I watched her scenes carefully to see whether it would be visible but she did well hiding it. Poor woman.
Sally has to make the most of any story line she gets, apart from dragging those kids around in every scene she's in.....theres not much more to her character.
Raquel is standing out side the set of there other Failed soap Albion Market, also when Dez came to collect Raquel It would have been more traumatic for her if she was arrested for soliciting. It just would have made Tanya that little bit more nasty.
Good haircut for Andy Macdonald..... His old hair cut reminded me of Megan Markle, long hair in face and constant flipping it.. It distracts from your preformance....Ha Ha HA
I don't understand people leaving bad comments about Raquels voice. I think it's great. Very ASMR, and I'm surprised she can sustain it so smoothly over all her episodes.
I found watching and listening to her difficult by this stage. She went from having a very different voice and personality, to becoming 'Raquel', who breathily whispered half her lines and spent most of her time being either like an angry, demanding child or seemingly clueless. Sarah Lancashire is a good actress, so she could cope with this nonsense, even if some viewers couldn't.
Fun storyline with Vera, Jack & the betting shop. But unfortunately the writers tripped up with their maths: The most Jack could have given Vera would have been 444.50 (minus the cigar) so she's till short 50-odd quid of the 500 she thinks she won. It would have been better if Vera had counted the money, realised that she was 50+ short and then leant over to kiss Jack on the cheek while whispering, "Here luv, you keep the rest to treat yourself" _camera zooms in on Jack's face_
Curly and reg make a good comedy act! They really do make me laugh…so curly as a new woman in his life good on him!!
Love Percy talking about beggars, yet he finds paying half price for a haircut still too much, and wants more discount lol
Ah, but you're forgetting Percy made gravy, under shell fire.
This gives him carte Blanche to make the rules up, as he goes. One set for himself and another for everybody else.
Despite the fact that he's a nout a pound lodger, with nothing to show for his life.
He's a horrible man
I love Bet's character to bits - but this month's hairdo is omg - no words.
it looks normal Bet to me ?
Love having these episodes to watch ❤ Thankyou for sharing ❤ xx

And she was fired for having a facelift.
i have noticed that also last few weeks she sounds like shes slurring her words alot
I agree, I think she'd been struggling for the past couple of months at the least x
I can hear the difference in her speech too.. poor Lynne 😢
@@homeless_greg_games Not a facelift - she had lip injections. If you watch her last scene on Corrie you'll see she can barely speak.
I feel like I missed something key about Tanya in previous episodes? She seems like she's on some kind of vendetta against the people of the street. What a trouble maker.
I think she is just a massive snake.
Interesting character though
Nasty piece of work
The music this month has been top notch!
Stop shouting, Sally.
Lynne Perry is absolutely leathered in every episode, probably not far off the 'fat lip' stage 😅
Thank you. Keep up the good work
Awwww god I bloody love Maud.shes so comical. so glad I'm watching these episodes again 💖💖
Now you see, I couldn't stand her.
I really don't understand why Sally is still going on about this accusation, she is making mountains out of molehill's. Everyone knows it is not true but she is still going on and on......tedious. I think she is just arguing for the sake of arguing now.
Either that or she is trying too hard to hide the fact that Joe propositioned her.
Sally and Kev's favourite song has to be "Shout," by Lulu.😣😣😣
Enjoying this month's Eve as well. Thank you.
Nice to see a younger Mark Charnock (aka Marlon Dingle).
Nice.

a few sticky nights with percy enlightened her.
Reg’s new glasses are ridiculous 😂😂
Deirdre needs to do something about her hair. When I saw her in the salon I thought she was getting a new hair do.
If only! Her hair is ridiculous. And Bet looked much better when she arrived at the salon than when she left! Lol
Mavis actually is better looking
Ivy slurring her words as usual. What a shame.
Martin ... sighing, tutting..clicking...really annoying.
Ooooh...Bet's wearing that gorgeous amethyst necklace. I want it.
I wouldn't mind betting it is Don Brennan stalking Denise.
Or Ivy.

Much more ahead now. Just the start of 97. Don is a lunatic and nothing is over until someone sings. Lol

This scene is actually quite creepy.
At first I thought that Denise's stalker had placed a weird mannequin in the middle of her salon...
Haha! You’re absolutely right - he doesn’t appear to move an inch! 🤣
That guy looked like a cardboard cutout.
Then they never showed him again , I wanted to see him speaking or moving.
i thought for a second it was Julian Richings but it isn't him they likely used an extra.
That scene with the yobo boys and Vera made me spit my dinner out laughing so hard!
Martin complaining about having loads of kids when he pretty much forced himself on Gail and threw a fit when she said no the first time. Such a twat 😂
Glad Andy's had a haircut, though it's still too long. I am still convinced that he is Audraaaay's long lost son! Just compare the 2 elongated faces.
