This is absolutely fantastic thanks for this looking forward to more videos, came into the shop a few months ago to get shown how to use two power cabs together very helpful thank you . When somebody explains it, can sometimes be easier to digest than reading an instruction manual.
Hi David. Thank you so much for posting this simple explanation! I have to say that the instructions in the NCE Power Cab manual are not very clear…. Having watched this video, I have now found the section in the manual that explains how to program the OPTION key, however your method is so much easier! 0 out of 10 for NCE, 10 out of 10 for DIGITRAINS! Cheers Ross, building a layout at East Coast DCC!
Many thanks for a most a informative video in plain english explaining the F Key mystery. I look forward to more instrumental videos on the NCE PowerCab Terry
I have a real problem my power cab is showing con where it show loc this happens when I select loc 3 and nothing happens ? if I select loc long number it works can I reset the hand set in any way . or do I send it some where to get this repaired hoping you can help Paul
Thanks for this but trouble is nothing happens when I press a number after selecting a range, for instance, I press Shift and 0 twice and the range F20- 28 comes up but when I press 7 or 8, which apparently changes the volume, nothing happens. Sometimes it does, sometimes the volume will go all the way down when 7 is pressed, and sometimes it will come right back up again if 8 is pressed, but not always, and I don't get a choice to set the volume at any levels in between. Any ideas?
Sorry I missed your comment Richard. On our sound projects activating 27/28 will continuously alter the volume of the sound either up or down, until you deactivate it the function. This allows you adjust the volume to your taste in a "live" fashion.
Hi Paul, if you change you speed step range from 128 to 28 using the 28/128 button on the bottom row of buttons, this will make the inc/dec fast buttons go up in speed steps of 4.
The purpose of the video is to show how to achieve this just using shift and zero. There is a video showing how to program the option key for easier access to higher functions here th-cam.com/video/sSJNtsP3aLI/w-d-xo.html :)
Been trying to figure it out for ages, thanks for such a useful upload

It's way simpler to use the option key !
How about you program the option button so you don't have to do things the hard way. 😉
