I recommend giving Alex Flores's Gen 3 build series videos a watch for the best info on mods for the Gen 3 for your goals with the car. For intake, PMAS has some of the cleanest data. I have a PMAS with Lund 91/93 tune in my Gen 2 and it has lived happy. Never any hiccups and it has been tuned by Lund since 2018 and the car now has a little over 60k miles, almost all miles on the car are with Lund tunes. I ran their E85 tune when I lived in CA and E85 was available at the pumps. I am stuck with 91 where I live now, but the car is still very happy.
Great video!! It’s my first time messing with a tuner and my LRX has been sitting in the box with me hesitant about destroying my car. You gave me the confidence i needed. Heading into my garage now
How’d it go? I can tell you to not worry about destroying your car haha. As long as you don’t drive it like it’s stolen 24/7 you won’t have an issue compared to as if it was stock
You win the award for saying "go ahead" more than any other channel on TH-cam 😁 Thanks for the video. Very interesting. I'll go ahead and say that I can't wait to go ahead and go ahead to install my LRX.
Great freaking video.. I have thinking about doing a Lund 93 tune for my Stock 2017 just to get that extra power out of the car that I know is there...
Yea dude go for it! I would recommend doing the tune with an intake, even if it’s just a high flow filter along with like a resonator delete delete just to get a little extra flow out of the exhaust. But just doing the tune will be Sweet!
So there’s an option on the website under cams, that says “ghost cam only” or something like that, and if you select that, just email them telling them you’re ordering it, and ask for the ghost cam tune to be for e85. At least that’s what I did
Just email them it’s free they will give it to you. Also if you have cats I wouldn’t run the ghost cam tune I think it can damage them over time it works best if you your catless or have catless longtube headers. I have a video on my TH-cam channel of my stang with ghost cam tune sound really good in person. But when your at idle or at a stop it tends to jerk a bit nothing bad just the tune.
Not at all! It’s been great. I posted a video today talking more about my experience. The only problem I’ve had is with the way Lund tunes the trans, it’s been giving me some problems. You HAVE to do a KAM reset if you do choose Lund and drive it super smooth for 70-100 miles after flashing it. But everything’s great!
Thank you! Thats the car and driver one. its dope and cheap, but the screen popped out over about 4 months. I would definitely not cheap out on something important like that, ill be upgrading soon! This is the one ive been looking at Vantrue N4 3 Channel 4K Dash Cam
@@mtnbikerva1 I’m not too sure what you’re asking, are you asking how the time adds power to the car? If so, tuning a N.A. car adds timing to the engine to add power basically. With e85 it’s the same concept but it can add way more power to the car from the octane of e85. But with standard 91/93 you still gain power just from telling the engine to work harder basically
@@Driven2Review without a London tune, or somebody else’s tune and extra money spent on the tune, doesn’t the car from the factory already come with the ability to advance and delay the timing? The car from the factory will already run on 93 octane so what does the tune give us of value?
@@mtnbikerva1 tuning alone adds power, Lunds tune adds about 16 HP/tq to the wheels. It also improved the automatic transmission performance, which I found to be awesome. Much faster and smoother. The Mustang stock won’t change any sort of timing ever, as it doesn’t have an octane sensor, which is why you can’t use 87 without knocking. The engine just runs as it’s tuned from factory
Lund still offers the HP tuners which are little “chips” that don’t have cables that go right into your ECU. Then you flash the tunes from your phone. They’re pretty cool just a little expensive IMO

@@LaneSpeckMedia yea I mean I assume your 02 sensor issues are from something to do with a converter “repair”, all of this can be done via a tune and with the LRX gauge. I’d recommend it overall 👍
@@ssswdon this is not one of them. Any tuner that flashes your ECU, can be unplugged after flashing. The only reason I keep my LRX gauge plugged on is for the gauge function 😇
You really can’t go wrong with just doing a k&N high flow, even at FBO! I’d recommend putting your money elsewhere, you won’t see any improvements really between intakes :) but they offer calibrations for pretty much any of the name brand ones. I hear the Roush one is pretty popular
I personally would do a pmas cold air with a ported cobra jet myself and at least l&m intake cams if not a full set of cams. Do it all at once so you're not buying intakes twice otherwise if you're just going to do a tune and not do any more mods the intake don't matter that much. It Def matters with an upgraded manifold and headers though. People that say intakes do nothing are talking about bone stock cars. That don't apply when the engine is flowing alot more air it needs larger piping.
The mods I just said could get a gen 2 mustang to 500+ rwhp even with just the l&m intake only cams. It's significantly faster than a typical cold air header tune car. Some people think it isn't "worth it" because they only look at peak dyno numbers. That setup is gonna be significantly faster like I said peak numbers be damned (not that 500 rwhp all motor from a light modded 5 liter is bad by any means)
@midnight347 the amount of time and money spent for cams and install can pay for over half of a supercharger kit and will barley make any more hp then without cams. Even if you're boosted there isn't much to gain with cams.
@DrivenToReview bro I thought I was trippin with that text. At first all I saw was the mustang and didn't suspect a thang. Hahah. Thanks for the reply bro, gonna throw you a sub and follow along!
