After reading a news article on the James Webb telescope, I suddenly recalled watching this video way back when I was still in college. I searched for hours, and finally found it! It's still as moving and thought provoking as I remembered it to be.
Thanks for bringing this into the world, Peter.

Do you know what Peter? This was a huge inspiration for me and influenced my decision to go study astronomy (I considered it as a risk back then!). Doing my PhD now and defending my thesis soon. Art is powerful. Thank you for this beautiful piece. It lit up my young mind and heart, and seems to have the same effect even today :)

Holy moly! Thank you so much. Thank you for letting me know. All of us just hope to feel useful. It seems like that’s built into being a human. So: you made my day. Go get em at your defense!

Always so great. I never get tired of this one. And sometimes, some days, I just need to play it, as a reminder. Thank you, thank you.

I have never seen anything as special as this. And it was very emotional. Thank you.

This piece never fails to give me peace, Peter. Your art and the science of astrophysics create a wonderful juxtaposition of a sense of hopelessness that we're here for so little yet an inspiration to do the best we can for others, nature and ourselves. I come back to this every time I feel low because I find, like many others commentators here, that it gives me solace. Thank you, Peter.

Hi Peter, we met and chatted over coffee at Folk alliance in Montreal a couple of year ago - I loved this piece then, when I saw it for the first time, when I was researching artists I would like to see at the conference. I work (ed) with the amazing Willy Porter here in the UK - but have now moved up to the Outer Hebrides off the west coast of Scotland.... I mention all this, as I have tonight just left my 3rd of 3 "introduction to stargazing" meetings - and each time, reminded me of this wonderful piece of yours. I shared it with the group tonight. Thank you. (and say hi wot Willy when you see him next!).

Martin- so good to hear from you! I remember meeting you. And I’ll wager the stargazing that far out in the ocean. I’ll say hello when I next see Willy!

Wonderful story, wonderfully told. Understanding our species’ insignificance on a cosmic scale doesn’t mean we don’t experience wonder and joy at a baby’s first smile ❤️
