  • After dealing with a loose nut... well, a lost nut, I start out on a portion of the Cabot Trail that lies in Highlands National Park from the Cheticaamp side. I thought I had 4 cameras rolling but it turns out that 2 weren't on and one had a very dirty lense. Got to start paying attention to all of those things.
    I left the overflow camping area late and was ready for lunch within an hour of being on the road. This first part is the section of the trail that everyone thinks of when you see the words "Cabot Trail".
    I'm going to stop at the Rusty Anchor for lunch.
    It is a great ride! More to come.

    Beautiful road ! We did the trail counter-clockwise this year. Not enough time to do both directions so I was glad to see your view here !

    Great video but you mess me up by going CW. I have rode the Cabot Trail two times going CCW. You gave me another view for sure. Now I have to give that a try. Looks like a 2023 trip! Take care.

      I actually think that counter clockwise is the best if you are only going to get one crack at it. Done it both ways many times. Do it in 2023!

    The images do speak for themselves. The Cabot Trail is remarkable. I'd be feeling better about the video though, knowing that bolt has been fixed. Still have the image of the trailer leaving you playing on the screen in my head.

    • @OldGuyonaBike
      @OldGuyonaBike  ปีที่แล้ว

      But you have the knowledge that I made it through the 106 days safely. There will be much more about the bolt and hitch over the following 3 - 4 weeks of travel.

  • @DeadNought
    @DeadNought ปีที่แล้ว

    I haven't done clockwise in years - I think I need to do it again that direction.
    Rusty Anchor - one of the many places I haven't stopped at ......yet.

    • @OldGuyonaBike
      @OldGuyonaBike  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since I usually do it on my way to the ferry, clockwise is my most time efficient direction. Only once in a while I do it after getting off the ferry. I'll have to do it counter clockwise next year just to remember what that direction looks like. The Rusty Anchor is a favourite stop of mine.

  • @jamesdwyer6701
    @jamesdwyer6701 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think clockwise gives you the best views

    • @OldGuyonaBike
      @OldGuyonaBike  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think one needs to do it both ways. The switchbacks are much better going downhill counter clockwise... and I think the next section in the mountains is better that way too. It's great either way but one should do both if they can.

    Loose nut, umm. On the bike or behind the throttle?

    • @OldGuyonaBike
      @OldGuyonaBike  ปีที่แล้ว

      Seeing that I fixed it with an SAE nut on a metric bolt, It might be the nut with the throttle in his hand. You do what you have to do.

    • @brianfromnh2596
      @brianfromnh2596 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OldGuyonaBike I hope it wasn't a HD SAE nut! The ST may have heart failure :) I agree you do what works:)

    • @OldGuyonaBike
      @OldGuyonaBike  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brianfromnh2596 I know I have no HD nuts in my kit. I had double nutted the coupler on the trailer so I stole one of them. (two bolts/4 nuts). 3/8" nut from the trailer almost fits 10 mm bolt on the bike but the threads are slightly off. Reef'er down hard and it's not going anywhere. At least I don't think so... time and video will tell.

    You used to have such good videos about camping. Please include times when you are in your camper and cooking. Just road shots of you driving down the road are getting quite boring.

      This series will have a lot of the journey but I do promise there are more in camp videos coming up as I got into the rhythm of this trip.
