    Important to remember that there is no such thing as a 'perfect' camera, and also that cameras now are generally so good that an 'upgrade' is often not essential. Improving my own techniques can get me better photos than an upgrade would. (X-T30 owner).

      An X-T30 is still better than what the majority of photographers has. Most people don't upgrade their body every other year. It can be easy to forget that with content creators often wanting to show features of the latest gear. Walking in nature and seeing a different photographer using some old DSLR I never think 'ew, that thing is old', but the TH-cam rat race is often about the latest and greatest gear. Which makes sense, it gets the views and you have to review recent stuff, that's also what I'd do, but it's good to take a step back. That X-T30 is going to be good enough for at least a decade I'd hope.

    I’ve owned and heavily worked with the XT-3 and XT-30 for maybe 4 years now and shooting mainly video, honestly I can’t get enough of both cameras they are just absolutely amazing, my only need to upgrade is just TH-cam peer pressure other than that I’m sure I can keep up with my clients needs for years to come.

    • @MacnTeensVisuals
      @MacnTeensVisuals  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is absolutely no doubt you could keep using both those cameras for years to come for your client work. Honestly the upgrades with almost all new cameras these days aren't really worth it unless you have a very specific need for that one thing. Glad you are enjoying your cameras though, keep shooting it's not about the gear. ✌

    I purchased an XT-1 a few months back because the reviews are still really good. It is magical for photographs, especially with vintage lenses (Meyer- Optik, Carl Ziess, Takumar, etc…). However, one cloudy day, and a bouncing baby grandson, made me realize that I still, sometimes, need an auto focus lens in my bag. So I studied reviews and found a Fujifilm 35mm f1.4 lens, used, for a fair price. This would solve the auto focus problem. However, the seller also had an XT-3 with battery grip and a Fujifilm 18mm -135mm zoom lens. I was offered the XT-3 and 2 lenses for just over $1K, because the seller wants to buy an XT-5. I studied for a little while and decided that since the XT-3 does good video, I should buy it all, quickly, and then sell my current Lumix G7 and some other older gear. It’s been a few weeks and most of the gear is sold and I will actually make more money than I spent when the rest sells. I may not have the newest gear, but I have no doubt that I have the best cameras (& lenses) that I have ever owned in my lifetime. People are often selling their “old” XT-1 thru XT-4’s for great deals. You just have to search and wait patiently. I love videos like this where great equipment is reviewed, rather than the newest. Thanks for the time and hard work making it.

      Hey Ken, thanks very much glad you liked the video and glad to hear your are enjoying your new camera. Sounds like a bargain to me. Gear is talked about way too much I think. I don't really have much interest in buying the latest gear when it comes to photography because I don't think it would really make much difference at all. Video is another story though haha

    I found and XT3 + battery grip (with og box, even the flash) and an XT4 in a similar condition for about 60% more expensive.
    I've thought about it many times, the advantages over the XT3 are miniscule when I 'put a score' on them. The battery life doesn't matter because where I am, the price of the NPW235 is literally twice the price of an NPW126s, which is about the same ratio of it's capacity.
    The flip screen isn't a must, and I do like the screen being around the camera body, I don't have a camera yet but I took photos with my phone that would work well with the vertical and horizontal flip of the screen. And for the most part I will be behind the camera.
    Mic input directly on the body is nice, and the removable port door is nice for rigging.
    (Never had IBIS before, and usually the lenses stabilization should be good enough, and when there is none, the wide aperture and fast shutter speed should overcome it)
    Overall, my opinions match yours. :)

    • @MacnTeensVisuals
      @MacnTeensVisuals  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cheers for sharing and I totally agree the differences with most newer cameras now is minuscule and really only makes a difference to people who use them professionally and really benefit from the latest features. Which is very few people i'd imagine.
      If you don't need the features there is no point paying a lot more for the latest camera.

    Nice video. I have been using the xt3, along with a third-party grip, and as a stills photographer, I have been generally very satisfied. I also, having tried various film simulations, have settled on Astia, with some minor changes.

      Thank you! It's a really nice camera to use isn't it and the Astia soft film sim just gives such rich colours. Other than IBIS for video I wouldn't need to upgrade for a long time.

    I prefer the XS10 because I am an Italian Espresso addict and XT3 is not a good choice for me. I made some pretty good shots in Portugal with the XS10 and are enough for my personal taste, but I can do better for sure, even though the XT3 is an amazing camera. For video work, I believe the X-H2S is a very good choice but the price is absolutely out of my budget. Better to get a good secondhand XT3 or XT4. BTW another interesting video you Guys are top!!!

But yes price wise It does make sense to go for something else if you have a lower budget. Cheers again appreciate it :)

      Thanks very much, appreciate it! That would be a great choice although if you don't need it for video the X-T3 would be a more budget friendly option. I would recommend probably the 18-55mm to get started or if you want a prime either the 35mm F2 or the 23mm F2. 👍

      @@MacnTeensVisuals thank you!! Ohh i did hear about the 18-55mm being a great starter. I was hoping to go for the X-T4 because of the IBS primarily and it seems they have gone down in price as of recent. So I'm still debating (have been for the past two weeks lol) but I hope to make a decision soon. Also should I buy the 18-55 mm lense used or new?

      We use the Astia Soft film simulation with some in camera adjustments and then I make some subtle adjustments when color grading in post. The footage always tends to look amazing right out of camera though to be honest. The footage in this video was actually shot using the X-T30 with the 18-55mm lens 👍

      I got an X-T4 a week ago and it’s amazing. One thing I didn’t like was the interface when picking film simulations. It looked cooler on my XT30 ii that I traded for. But the IBIS and looong battery life is worth it. It’s not like I’m always switching simulations

    • @MacnTeensVisuals
      @MacnTeensVisuals  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! So make sure you are in continuous focus and set the focus speed to quite fast so the lens will focus quicker on your subject. You can also adjust the tracking setting to help track subjects rather than locking on to other things in the foreground or background. Also try using center focus or keep your focus point in the center so your couples are always within the square. You may already do all these but if not they should help 👍
