Thank you Mikayla for providing 17 hours of sermons! Wow! That'll take a while. I must say Finney has a harsh way about him and I sometimes find him hard to listen to. I just feel so convicted to the point of being overwhelmed and that it's no use to try to repent from so much wrong in my life. But that's all the more reason to keep going. God bless you.
i read this pamphlet long ago it was so convicting. now God gave me a heavier repentance message than this even. He purged me and peered at me with a microscope i gave an account of every idle word i spoke. somehow He got me sanctified which is really freeing.
I went back through and took notes this time. Had to pause a number of times. I still kept feeling condemned at times but also much more aware of the high calling of God in Christ. Salvation is not possible without Christ in us by grace through faith.
Consider your sins, you must examine yourself. Don't focus on your feelings. Look back over your past history and go over your sins one by one. Take them up one by one. I've read parts of Finney's autobiography but never his sermons. VERY convicting, even overwhelming. I always think in terms of not smoking cussing or drinking (I never like drinking anyway) but sins of omission and commission, even not showing enough love for everyone. He's very thorough in his approach to confession, unlike anyone I've ever heard before. (Edit: I know even bad attitudes are sin but to hear him speak against it really hits hard.) But I feel overwhelmed to the point in saying it's too much.

God gave me this verse about 18 years ago, I have finally figured out what it means for sure. God already had me on this path of repentance and restitution and obedience, that the OSAS was wrong. Which I had a nagging about that anyway FOR YEARS. But this lecture and even the title of it has brought it all home. We can not continue in willful sin. I've been praying to be shown what areas in my life need refined & changed. The current state of the church is lukewarm. Very few Pastor's are preaching the severity of sin & what is the result of that sin. It's very, very serious.

It took me a year in a half after getting delivered from demons and breaking down stronghold’s to receive genuine faith. I kept fasting and praying on and off weekly and would stay consecrated at my home. My advice to you is to choose a place, whether in ur own home or car and spend time praying to Jesus daily there at the same time. As u do this constantly, the atmosphere will be anointed and make it easier to pray through and His presence to dwell there. Also, stay away from worldly activities and give ur self discipline by making ur own curfew, unless you pull an all nighter with the Holy Spirit! I’m still constantly seeking Jesus and I a just want more of Him and to go deeper with Him. It might seem like ur making no progress at first, but those are just lies, remember we walk by faith and not by sight!
Also, get plugged into a full Gospel believing church and start doing the works of a disciple. As u do the works, u are working out ur faith muscles and it will continue to grow!

Yes!! Repent, (confess your sins and ask forgiveness and choose to turn from them) and truly give your life to Jesus, putting your faith in Him and what He did for you in the cross. Then get baptized and pray to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said he spews the lukewarm out of his mouth. If you are backslidden, you won't make it to heaven. The Bible is extremely clear about that. You can brush it off it you want to but it's so unwise to do that, your soul is precious and hell is eternal

Because someone who is lukewarm is a hypocrite and that's the worst of all. He wasn't saying it's okay to be cold (an unbeliever). Yea AA is not good. It's against Jesus and they say that a doorknob can be a higher power. It's all man made doctrine.

Yes!! Repent, (confess your sins and ask forgiveness and choose to turn from them) and truly give your life to Jesus, putting your faith in Him and what He did for you in the cross. Then get baptized and pray to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

If you are backslidden, you won't make it to heaven. The Bible is extremely clear about that. You can brush it off it you want to but it's so unwise to do that, your soul is precious and hell is eternal

What Jesus was saying is I would rather you be a true on fire beleiver (hot) or be an unbeliever (cold). Because someone who is lukewarm is a hypocrite and that's the worst of all.
He wasn't saying it's okay to be cold (an unbeliever). He's saying he would rather you be an unbeliever than to be a fake hypocritical Christian who is in sin.
