my Meade autostar display ribbon flex contact problem it's 14 pin flex is it possible to replace or can do bypass please give some idea to fix this issue
Hi sorry for the late response. I would say if the flex cable is for sure the problem it may be possible to bypass it with some small gauge wire but it usually requires some precision soldering equipment. Perhaps finding a used one for parts might be the better option?
I have the exact same remote. I havent used it in a while. I fired it up the other day. The direction button do not all work. I can move it up and down, but the sideways buttons don't work. Do these same connections control that also?
No it wouldn’t be those connections but you might look at time 1:44 on the video when I lift up the keypad off the board. The rubber sheet is the buttons from the front and they line up to electrical contacts on the green board and sometimes you can just clean those off to make the buttons work again. Make sure the power is disconnected. Good luck.
