Thanks for the video. I lived along the Pennsylvania Railroads Media-West Chester line but in latter years got to know the Reading Lines by riding the RDC version of the Wall Streeter and the Crusader. I also rode it to Bethlehem and Reading and Pottsville. They provided a good service up till the end of the longer services after SEPTA took over. I was glad to see that the old Reading terminal head house got to stay as part of the new Convention Center. I even got to ride the last regularly scheduled commuter train out of Reading terminal.Long live the memory of the Reading Railroad.

Love the video, my dad started out as afireman on the Reading and retired as a Conrail engineer. So proud of my dad.

Thanks for posting this history. I'm from Reading and my father was a board member of the Reading Railroad museum for many years, and I have good memories of volunteering on occasion.

We do a bit of swimming here in reading pa so we get to see the area every year. The amount of buildings and old tracks left from the railroad is astounding honestly. Shamefully the amount of people who even care about the history in reading is few, replaced by the sound of rap music and cop cars. More often then not we end up walking the Schuylkill trail, a walking path made from the old linesthat followed the shoreline of the river we swim at.
