I didn't like the chords underneath he just played the major root chord mostly with some (phrygian) extensions, without following the melodic movement of the song. I can understand it for the improvisational parts but he can play the same scale even if you change it up from time to time to keep it interesting; for me it shows the pianists lack of understanding for oriental music, or his taste is a bit bland
