New sub! My son will be fishing a kayak tournament there in mid Oct. We've never been on the lake (live 8 hours away). We will have a couple days to practice before his tournament. Any suggestions on "area" to fish (section, ramps)? It's massive! We are staying at a house right along Armstrong Bend area.

That was my first time on the lake so I don’t know too many spots out there but I would look for where creeks run into the lake with deep water nearby or docks can be pretty good too depending on what the water temperatures will be here in a few weeks. Also, if the TVA starts to drop water levels it’ll mess with the fish but if the water levels go up, you’ll have some of the best fishing out there. Keep me updated with how his tournament goes and I appreciate you watching!

I have some good news for you. Lake Lure in 2024 will allow Kayaks to fish at no charge.
