Here is some data of my own for the Backfire G2 Black 2020: I weigh 216 lbs with gear on, ride in very flat area. Board is in stock configuration with original 96mm wheels. Today I got 10.5 miles of range, the last mile was slow around 10 mph. Average speed was 13.0 mph, max 21.7mph. Temperature: 80F. This was recorded with Strava app. It was a leisurely, carvy ride. I thinks that’s pretty good considering Backfire advertises 11 to 12.5 miles of range, that’s 95% of the lower end range and I am over 200 lbs. I have hit 27 mph top speed on flat road numerous times on previous rides. If I go full throttle the whole time I get about 7.5 to 8 miles of range, which is 73% of advertised range. P.S. I also have an Exway Flex with riot belt drive assembly, 120mm cloud wheels on it. Exway advertises 20 miles of range. I got 11.2 miles today, I rode it right after my ride on the Backfire. That’s only 56% of the advertised range. I rode very similar to the way I did on the Backfire but just a little faster. I had remote set on 3rd gear the whole way(I have turbo turned off in Exway app). Average speed was 15.4mph, top speed 26.4mph. I have hit 30mph on flat road numerous times on previous rides. If I go full throttle with or without turbo turned on, I only get about 8 miles of range, which is only 40% of advertised range. Speed and range recorded with Strava app and Speedmeter app.
They have a service center in West Virginia! If you do experience problems with your board, they can ship replacement parts from there. I had two faulty motors and was back on the road in like 4-5 days lol. Didn’t have to pay for anything under warranty. In business, it’s not about having problems, it’s about how they handle it!
Great review Daniel. Your review was instrumental in my decision to buy the G2 Black. I'm in my mid 40s, new to the sport, and haven't ridden on a skateboard since I was in my 20s (at least). For someone new to the sport, I found the board to be very easy to ride and I got use to it in no time at all. The board has a ton of power, more speed than I need (at the moment). Took a leap of faith buying this board having never ridden a skateboard before. And it is an absolute blast. Was able to pick up on how to do things very quickly and has more than enough speed to be very fun for me.
I decided to hurt myself a bit more for a G3Plus, but in every case, Backfire are awesome products. I'm glad they are also taking care to upgrade their previous generations. If anyone still has a doubt, just go for it.

Great vid! Talking about unbranded cells, do you think the G3 and the Zealot also uses unbranded cells? Usually, when a manufacturer uses great cells like the Samsung 40T or the VTC6, they usually write it out. (like for the G3+ and the Galaxy) but for most other boards, we don't have much info about the cells. We just know that the G3 and Zealot uses 21700 cells.
The backfire G2 is the board im looking to get . I don't feel like I need a G3 unless I get lucky and catch it for a good price . I'm 44 years old so I won't be riding the board to far and I don't need a board any faster because the pavement don't feel to good when you hit that shit . The G2 is plenty enough for me and plus I'm just getting over having colon cancer so I can't get to wild with it

ATSA has better materials, more pockets, less storage space than Alter Mini, heavier. Alter has fewer pockets, more storage space even in the Mini bag, lighter.

The Ae2 has a 10s3p battery as standard so the advertised range is better. Can you please recommend one over the other? FYI this board isn't in stock at their US warehouse. ETA is about 1 month. Confirmed with them after i purchased, and subsequently canceled. The Galaxy looks like it's in stock though.
Thanks I just asked about it. According to Backfire their first shipment sold out in 2 days, which they didn’t expect. (Not sure if I can share specific numbers.) Next shipment of G2B is expected to arrive at warehouse later this month. There’s normally a spike in sales near product launch so next shipment shouldn’t sell out so quickly.

I have been binge watching a lot of electric skateboard reviews and yours are by far my favourite. I'm really considering the G2 Galaxy as a first board but I would also like being able to go all terrain. Seeing all the feedbacks from cloud wheels, I'm looking into a quiet board with good range. Aside from the Onsra that is above my price range, I'm considering the Wowgo AT2 but is it really a good board to begin eskating with?

I am going to be a university student in a few months and want a board to get around campus! I know how to ride but I still think I am a beginner/amateur. Should I get the backfire g2 or the meepo v3??? Or do you have any other recommendations in this price range?
If you have the g2t, is it possible to upgrade the esc and motors to the new galaxy ones? Also, does the galaxy have unlimited speed limit in turbo like the g2t?
How does the torque compare to a WowGo 3? The range definitely is not bad for the price, but if the acceleration and carving are subpar compared to something slightly more expensive, it might not be worth the buy

I know its fairly new but has anyone been able to do cycle tests on the battery pack? does it have a consistent drain and charge or is it unstable? also, any budget boards with belt drive motors?
I'm about to order my first e-skate, and have my choices narrowed down to two "finalists": WowGo 2S Pro & BackFire G2 Black. Both 'tick' all the right boxes, especially for a higher-end, quality, "budget" board. I've tried searching comparisons of these two against each other, but have come up completely empty (I can find comparisons of both against the same 'other' boards...just not these two against each other). I could REALLY use some help in deciding. What would the pros/cons of each (against the other) be. Also, something (for both) I haven't been able to find on either is info on 'customer service' (especially for the U.S.) Any "assistance" would be GREATLY appreciated.
Saving for a e board mostly looking a backfire and looking at g2 cause its gonna take me a while to save but should i save the small extra amount cause will it actually make a difference if i get the zealot
Lyacon gr goes almost twice as far as this board and has 2 480w motors for 399 also, please tell me why this board is better? Did you get paid to say this??
except u don’t, trust me exway is much much better and more comfortable this board doesn’t stand out and feels like other boards it’s not very comfortable either u can’t ride for long periods of time without ur legs hurting on the backfire
I agree with benicio that you can’t ride too long without hurting (literally me every day).. but in my personal opinion, after sale support is more important than the best board money can buy. If you’re gonna spend 400+, the company should have your back for throughout the warranty. Other companies don’t take this as seriously as backfire, which is why they’ll keep my business for years
What’s you’re favorite e- board in your experience? I ordered a meepo v3 although I’m wondering if I should cancel since I’m seeing more people have problems with it..
E S mine will be here soon but scrolling through reddit there seems to be occasional battery and ECU issues along HUB wheel issues however I got some piece of mind. I found a group near me that has meepo boards and none of them have issues other than one guy with a faster draining battery. The wheels seems to last as long as you don’t go over abusive terrain frequently and the board is really fun. I think when people have issues they tend to go out of their way to the internet and complain so you may say “frequent” issues but that’s the small number of people that had it
foof247 ohh good to know. My main concern was the thin pu and I live in the southwest so tons of pebbles no matter where I go. I see over time the meepo motors get damaged and chipped over time and that was worrying. Also I don’t know how long the motors would last around my campus since it is a lot of side walk type Roads.I want something fresh out of the box no upgraded needed. Still waiting to make my final decision.
So what your saying is that I have a normal longboard which is honestly more fun cuz exercise is a good thing that costs the same as this electric board
Heey, I'm wondering if anyone in the comments can help me? I am looking to get an eboard, but I can't decide between this one (the Backfire g2), the flex exway, or getting an Icarus Loaded and buying a revel kit with it. I'll be using it to ride around my city, and my city has a lot of tile sidewalks and cracks on the sidewalk. What board would you guys recommend? (all of these are around the same price right now). Since you'll be riding on rough roads and sidewalks I would go with either the Backfire Zelot or Exway Flex with 105 cloudwheels. Hub motors aren't the best for rough terrain.

@@sophiephillips7961 I cannot answer this for you. Apsu is a mystery. Their website is confusing. You cannot directly compare models. Is it worth upgrading to X2? Their warranty is only 90 days,exway a year. Support is unknown.I couldn't find any pulleys to upgrade wheels. I could not even find if the belt drive is adjustable which is weird if it not but mentioned in a review. The exway is a level up but is it worth it? The do have a great app and battery saving tech.Both boards may have slow shipping due to selling out virus concerns.Exway had a good trip customer service wise apsu seems a mystery. So in closing you pay your money and take your chances but hey only you can say what $250 is to you. The one thing about apsu is you can spend a little more and get say a better remote in a different model but they make the difference hard to tell hope this helps

They have great after sales service. I bought a G2 black in February before this version came out and I have now 750km on it without any issues.

You can begin with almost any board really. Just make sure the board is suitable for your environment and what you want to do.

trippie hippie I've been researching for a year, put off cuz covid but got a new job and from my research I see backfire g2 being the better option my friend. More warehouses, let you know when they are in stock and us shipping whenever they are in stock is fast. Unless you want to wait over a month for a meepo, I was going to then Daniel uploaded this and I did more research, 25th they are gunna be in stock in the us so I'd wait
Meepo replacement parts and wheels take over a moth to arrive if they have then in stock also. Ride is very rough not for comfort.
Wonder how this compares to the Lycaon GR? Seem to shair a lot of similarities but the GR has a bigger battery.

Hey Daniel, I just checked the Website for the Galaxy and there is no where written that the battery is 6Ah and 216Wh compared to the G2 Black 2020. It shows the same specs. Thats weird?

I am going to be a university student in a few months and want a board to get around campus! I know how to ride but I still think I am a beginner/amateur. Should I get the backfire g2 or the meepo v3??? Or do you have any other recommendations in this price range?
At the moment WowGo 2S Pro is probably the best value under $500 but Backfire’s aftersale service ranks at the top.
If you have the g2t, is it possible to upgrade the esc and motors to the new galaxy ones? Also, does the galaxy have unlimited speed limit in turbo like the g2t?
Should i get the galaxy even though I'm a beginning and probably won't use the turbo mode for awhile?

How does the torque compare to a WowGo 3? The range definitely is not bad for the price, but if the acceleration and carving are subpar compared to something slightly more expensive, it might not be worth the buy
If you prioritize acceleration and carving then WowGo 3 is probably better for you.

I wished this review was out before I purchase the Wowgo 3. With the current situation idk when my board is gonna be shipped. Plus I would of saved some cash.
If it hasnt been shipped see if you can cancel the order. Better to wait another month for a better product.
I know its fairly new but has anyone been able to do cycle tests on the battery pack? does it have a consistent drain and charge or is it unstable? also, any budget boards with belt drive motors?
I'm about to order my first e-skate, and have my choices narrowed down to
two "finalists": WowGo 2S Pro & BackFire G2 Black. Both 'tick' all
the right boxes, especially for a higher-end, quality, "budget" board.
I've tried searching comparisons of these two against each other, but
have come up completely empty (I can find comparisons of both against
the same 'other' boards...just not these two against each other). I
could REALLY use some help in deciding. What would the pros/cons of

I had the same issue as you but wow go 2s pro isn't in stock in the us and the backfire was my backup

except u don’t, trust me exway is much much better and more comfortable this board doesn’t stand out and feels like other boards it’s not very comfortable either u can’t ride for long periods of time without ur legs hurting on the backfire
I agree with benicio that you can’t ride too long without hurting (literally me every day).. but in my personal opinion, after sale support is more important than the best board money can buy. If you’re gonna spend 400+, the company should have your back for throughout the warranty. Other companies don’t take this as seriously as backfire, which is why they’ll keep my business for years

Meopo just canceled my order it might me a blessing. What issues are you hearing about?
E S mine will be here soon but scrolling through reddit there seems to be occasional battery and ECU issues along HUB wheel issues however I got some piece of mind. I found a group near me that has meepo boards and none of them have issues other than one guy with a faster draining battery. The wheels seems to last as long as you don’t go over abusive terrain frequently and the board is really fun. I think when people have issues they tend to go out of their way to the internet and complain so you may say “frequent” issues but that’s the small number of people that had it
foof247 ohh good to know. My main concern was the thin pu and I live in the southwest so tons of pebbles no matter where I go. I see over time the meepo motors get damaged and chipped over time and that was worrying. Also I don’t know how long the motors would last around my campus since it is a lot of side walk type Roads.I want something fresh out of the box no upgraded needed. Still waiting to make my final decision.
So what your saying is that I have a normal longboard which is honestly more fun cuz exercise is a good thing that costs the same as this electric board
On a good day I’d rather use a normal longboard as well

Heey, I'm wondering if anyone in the comments can help me? I am looking to get an eboard, but I can't decide between this one (the Backfire g2), the flex exway, or getting an Icarus Loaded and buying a revel kit with it. I'll be using it to ride around my city, and my city has a lot of tile sidewalks and cracks on the sidewalk. What board would you guys recommend? (all of these are around the same price right now). Great video, Daniel. Your reviews have really been helping me get into eboarding
Since you'll be riding on rough roads and sidewalks I would go with either the Backfire Zelot or Exway Flex with 105 cloudwheels. Hub motors aren't the best for rough terrain.
Yeah you definitely want belt drive so you can easily change wheel size for crappy roads.

@@sophiephillips7961 I cannot answer this for you. Apsu is a mystery. Their website is confusing. You cannot directly compare models. Is it worth upgrading to X2? Their warranty is only 90 days,exway a year. Support is unknown.I couldn't find any pulleys to upgrade wheels. I could not even find if the belt drive is adjustable which is weird if it not but mentioned in a review. The exway is a level up but is it worth it? The do have a great app and battery saving tech.Both boards may have slow shipping due to selling out virus concerns.Exway had a good trip customer service wise apsu seems a mystery.
So in closing you pay your money and take your chances but hey only you can say what $250 is to you.
The one thing about apsu is you can spend a little more and get say a better remote in a different model but they make the difference hard to tell hope this helps
