The reason why so many people struggle to focus is because it's actually unnatural to stay focused on one specific topic for a certain time. Our brains are meant to multi task and flutter from idea to idea and from thought to thought, think about it! :)
hi i'm korean high school students. my school's done at least 9:40pm and i got home 10:30pm every week day and i have to go to school even Saturday! usually i sleep 2~4hours, i'm dying to wake up every morming feeling awful all day. some teachers say "you even can sleep since you die" i litterally this is is a awful quote but when i got home i study English with your vedios, and got me inspired from you a lot and hope all your wisdom saying make me better! While Harvard admissions honestly comes down to being a dice roll, if you get to the point where you're academically and extracurricularly qualified to go, then it matters less where you go and more what you've done to get where you are. I suffer from a bunch of mental disorders which make having a consistent sleeping rythm unbelieveably hard. So I am going to listen to this video every day from now on to remind myself that I am not doing anything wrong by sleeping early instead of hanging around exhaustedly until 3am, waiting for motivation to hit me which I can't even act on because I am too frigging tired.

A 0:35 morning schedule with things like cleaning and shopping is actually a GREAT time to reprioritize non-urgent tasks and enjoy a simple pleasure like waking up slowly and luxuriating in bed. Building in wiggle room for such enjoyment prevents burnout, and---like sleep---actually SUPPORTS productivity.

You have to remember that sometimes your mind know better and you should listen to it. Once in weeks is a good time to listen to it. Just like you would listen to your body.
That's true. But I don't trust my mind to know that when I wake up--of course it wants to stay in bed and do nothing. So you have to force yourself into productivity, a little bit. But burnout is real and if you're not taking the rest and relaxation seriously, then it happens and you have to take more time off because of it. I'm still finding the best way to take that mental rest. It's all an experiment and I love it!

One of the biggest problems I have with finding people who would hold me accountable is letting them down. I don't want to do that so I stress out about it, and I just end up letting them down even more.

It is the same thing with training and physical exercise. If you work out, you do not "loose" that time your where at the gym, you gain effective "concentration"-time, because your brain will be so much more "present" and you will be able to concentrate on your task so much more in depth.

Right now im in a crisis i find it difficult to concentrate and achieve my goals.My productivity has been at an all time low .I am narrowly surviving school. I dont know but i get good grades for one day and the next day i don't .I isolate myself so that i could concentrate more.I was school topper and very ambitious for the past 7 years .I am fighting anxiety and depression because i regularly get low grades.Right now my future seems uncertain.
Please bestow upon me your secret for 8-9 hours of sleep: Wake up at 5:30, leave the house at 6:30, get to school at 8:00, class until 5:30, getting home at 7:30, take a shower, have supper, relax for the tiniest bit, talk to my family and WOW I can't even get 9 hours anymore and haven't even opened my homework. This is how it always goes :(
I find that Instagram stories are also a great tool to utilize in order to make myself accountable. I use them all the time so that I won’t slack off and stick to a game plan.

I’ve been sleeping at 2:30 am every night this year, constantly getting to school a minute or two late. I’ve fucked my gpa by struggling in math and procrastinating in my other classes. I’ve gotten a lot more productive but I’m basically screwed at this point.

i love you videos and your thoughts in productivity but you have to keep in mind not everyone can get a good 8 to 10 hours sleeps everyday there are different circumstances that may keep that from happening but like you said productivity in mostly a state of mind and exterior factors may have effects on it but in the end it's all up to you!
Sleep is the biggest problem to me. you cant control it say I need 9 hours of sleep because I have test tomorrow I end up waking super early because fear of being late or couldnt sleep at all lol. Stressing and addressing how important sleep is good but when you think you have to sleep to achieve something important I just cant fall asleep and I think those who suffer insomnia do too

You could try sleeping in between class breaks, or on your way to school or on your way back from school. Unless you're driving or something.
