Chords are G C G D for the first 4 bars, then G C/C#dim G D/G for the 4 next bars and then it just loops from the start. In that case the notation C/C#dim and D/G means that each chord is played for half a bar. You will preferably use the G major pentatonic scale to improvise on this. G mixolydian or G major will also work but a bit trickier.

Cool track. Chords- Think I-IV-V in G. Soloing in Gm pent or E major pent is cool.

What scales other than g maj pentatonic would sound good over this?

Nice track, but posting the chord/root notes as they're played (as so many other videos do), is very helpful for us beginner bass players. Not ragging on you, just making a suggestion.

Actually, this may be doing you a favor because it teaches you to listen and not have a crutch. Isn't music about listening? IMHO.

If I wanted to figure it out myself, there are millions of options available to me. A backing track is typically a relatively simple tool for developing certain skills, not intended to throw the player into the deep end, and then be told "figure it out for yourself".

@@ivansari7483 Take the Major scale of any Key. Here it is G. 1 is G 2Am 3Bm 4 (IV)C 5 For D or D7 if you like. 6 Em. Most 3 chord songs are the 1,4,5 of that keys major scale. other popular patterns 2m-5-1. 4 Chord songs 1-6m-4-5(5/7th) or modern pop 1-5-6m-4. And the 1-6m-2m-5.
this works in all Keys. Now some will write 2-or 2m 3- or 3m 6- or6m. if the 2/3/6 are minor. Is the way the do it in the Nashville Studio's. So yes those 3 can be Major Chords. What ever works for the song. The 5/7th is the Dominate 7 as opposed to the Maj7. This is the Nashville Number System. Doug wrote it in Roman Numerals. BTW A 1-4-5 in C is a 1-4-5 in all other Keys. Same with any chord combination. So now you know how to Transpose from one key to another. Works on all instruments you play chords on. Even the BASS will follow these patterns. As they are playing their notes along with the chords of the song. So is the Drummer....Also technically these can be anything you might have a song with a 5-5Maj7-5/7. as it's 5 chord. Or 4sus2 ... Still will fall in to the chords place in that scale. A 2 is a 2 is a 2 no matter what kinda chord it is and in some songs can be 2or 3 different Types of that chord. 1 IS ALWAYS THE KEY ! No matter what chord you actually start on. As you will follow that key's pattern for the Chords. It's like the circle of 5ths but in a straight line. Google it for the chart. Copy the one that starts with the Key of C at the top.
