Mindy and Chase are excited to show you around their cozy tiny house, named the "Little Lotus." This space is designed with a relaxed, zen vibe, perfect for their lifestyle. From their full-size couch for cozy family nights to their multifunctional furniture, every piece serves at least two purposes to maximize space.
Living Room & Workspace
Their living room doubles as an office and dining area. They have a coffee table that lifts up for ergonomic work and a bistro set where they can stand or sit for meals. They love light, breezy spaces that are easy to maintain, and their furniture, including a storage stool that doubles as a tabletop, reflects that.
Kitchen Essentials
Despite the small size, their kitchen is designed for big cooking and entertaining. It features a full-size propane range, microwave, two-sided sink, and a wallpapered refrigerator for a personalized touch. They prioritized ample storage for their serving ware and cookware, with plenty of space to keep everything organized and within reach.
Bedroom Bliss
The master bedroom in the loft is the largest they've ever had, featuring a king-size bed, extensive clothing storage, and plenty of room for yoga and meditation. Chase’s bedroom downstairs offers him privacy and space for his interests, with room for friends to stay over and plenty of storage for his books and toys.
Spacious Bathroom
Their bathroom, one of the largest they've had, is designed to be both beautiful and functional. It includes a full-size shower with seats, ample storage for linens and toiletries, and a light, airy vibe. They have a full-size toilet and use electricity and propane just like a regular house, ensuring comfort and convenience.
Efficient Hallway
The hallway is incredibly functional, with a full-size stackable washer and dryer, storage for cleaning supplies, and a library area for hats, scarves, and accessories.
Why Tiny Living?
Mindy and Chase transitioned to tiny living to reduce costs and simplify their lives. With a monthly cost of just $1,000, it's cheaper than renting in San Diego, and they enjoy the added benefits of a yard and a close-knit community. Their journey into tiny living was made easier by finding a pre-designed tiny home on a lot with all utilities set up. It was a perfect solution for their needs.

They cherish items that bring them joy, from artwork by friends and family to special artifacts and personalized decorations. Their home is a blend of functionality and beauty, reflecting their love for a healthy, organized, and joyful living environment.

Usually when parents downsize, they don’t prioritize a private space for their kids. It makes me happy to see that she gave her son his own space, and not just a cubby.

My first thought too. I think this is the first tiny home I*ve seen that has an actual ROOM for their child, not just a matress somewhere or an open corner somewhere.. I recently saw a home that had a small-ish kids's room but no door, eventhough in that space it wouldve been so easy to impliment a wall and door.. Even worse, it was off the hallway, so everyone would always walk past it.
Of course it would be great if the mother had a more closed off room, for privacy, but I think it's way more important for child growing up
Just so everyone knows- the birds and cats are rescue animals. And they go outside everyday. I have a catio for them. 🙌🏼🙏💕

Mom is so loving giving her son the bedroom on the ground floor. I feel the same way and think it was a good move giving an area of space to call his own and to allow for that sleepover with friends when the time comes. I’m so happy for them but so upset with the circumstances in our country and the economy that has pushed hard working citizens out of the housing market and has made them seek other alternatives in order to live. This mother said something similar to what my aunt told me a number of years back and has stuck with me since “ the way you’ve done things here isn’t wrong sweetie it’s just a different way “ . This after being told how wrong I was I so appreciated that and hearing this lady say something similar made me smile. Best of luck to her and her son, they seem very delightful.

Cody, that's called a trundle bed. I grew up on one. Except it had a steel frame, and if flipped a lever, thst came up to full bed height.

I absolutely love the layout. It looks huge in there. I look at thousands of tiny homes. This one is incredible. I’m proud of you Mom for giving your son a home. He’s a sweetheart very secure and what he likes and what he doesn’t like. I can’t believe the lot rent is $1000 thoughthat seems so high and you know the lot rent gonna keep going up you’re gonna have to have a side hustle
