I cried 3 times. cried again 😢 She's talking about my Great-Great Grandmother, my Great Grandmother 😭 and her Mother, Aunt Corrine Cannon, which is my Grandmother's Sister. So much history!

Miss you dearly but thank you Reverend Dr. Canon for the keynote lecture in 2017, and I appreciate being reminded that our grandmothers and mothers contributed to our faith.

I cried… I never heard of this wise and grand intellectual woman, I am overwhelmed with her expression of living…

I thank God for the work and ministry of Rev. Dr. Katie Canon. I remember her fondly and prayerfully, having had the opportunity to listen to her lectures and sermons in the early years of my ministry. Rev. Betty Pierce-Williams

I am a teacher today because of her. My mentor. Yet, there is more to do. Rest on Dr. C

Why do you feel the desire to defend the professor? I'm not asking for you to give an answer or defend your comment, I'm not attacking. I'm asking for you to honestly ask yourself.
As a white male myself, I had to unlearn automatically siding with the oppressor. I was taught to always find an excuse why the victim deserved it and why the injustice was justified. That starting point of analysis is not God's way. I need to keep myself in check in this area.
That is why I ask you, to ask yourself,
Why do you feel the desire to defend the professor?
