    Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. As I live not too far from the Jurasic coast of the UK, I feel a trip coming on to the gem shop there and maybe have a go at this design. I hear you say 'not to chip the stone' and wonder if they are very delicate, or soft, or maybe like glass? This might teach me not to grip my tools too hard - a lesson indeed! Thanks again for sharing. ♥

      Have fun! Thanks for this great comment! They are soft... can be 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale of hardness, but what you should be careful about are the edges, that's where they can be fine and thin and where wire will rub against. ;)

    Thank you for sharing this tutorial - I began to follow it, but ran out of wire because my ammonite was bigger - I had to add wire an begun to play - out came something completely differen, but I love it. Thank you for giving me the courage my first ammonite

      @@PerfectlyTwistedJewelry seems like arthritis stepping in very painful in the joints to bend

      Ah, I understand that too... so I'm in my 50s and about 6 months ago, both my hands / wrists pretty much 'gave out' , seized up, cramped, wrists were so weak I couldn't hold onto my coffee cup if it was full... had blood tests done and while they don't test for it normally, I paid extra to have a vitamin D3 scan.... numbers for a woman my age should have been between 30 and 50, mine were 13... so doctor put me on vitamin D3... everything healed up. I thought arthritis too, but it's not that with me...I'm sure you've had it checked, but I do hope that my story might help you. 🌼🌞 I wish you well and healing in your hands.💞

    You are so talented and make me hope I can learn to have such an intuative approach to design - learning to look and make decisions as you go must take a great eye and experience. Thank you for sharing this. I have a small ammonite winging it's way through the post ....❤

    The pendant stone is so beautiful! I have never seen one that looked like a sea shell. Where do you purchase your flat wire? I love your work and thank you for your video.

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much, Jess! I buy all of my wire at RioGrande.com Search the wire you're looking for, this wire is called 18 gauge, square, soft, copper wire. Change the gauge and type to see other wire when you get there... for example, 22 gauge, half round, copper wire, etc. Hope that helps!

    My dad was a cabnet maker and he showed me how to hold a hammer and not grip it too close the way you are holding yours. Maybe you can show everyone

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Apple! I think I do this without even noticing it after so many years, but holding the hammer in a loving loose hand is better than holding the hammer too tightly, yes. There needs to be some room for the hammer to be the tool... when we grip too hard, then we take the vibration out of the strike perhaps... I will consider trying to show this more in the next video that I do hammering. I don't really know how to explain it, but I will try in the future. I hope this helps for now. Thanks again!

    Hi - I have been following your amazing tutorial and am nearly finished but wonder if you'd be kind enough to anser a question. Can you oxidise the finished piece with the ammonite in place?

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jeanie, thanks for reaching out and for your comment... I have always oxidized around my Ammonite without issue, but they are not super high-end, so if your is, please google to make sure or check with the dealer, but in most cases, you can with Ammonite. Thanks again!

    Hi everyone - I am in the UK and have been trying to find a UK supplier for 22g (.6mm) half round wire for this project. Can anyone help please? I have one supplier, not sure where they are trading from but it mentions that their wire is beading wire - would that be the same for wire wrapping? Thanks in advance.

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dora, beading wire is a different type of wire, I don't normally recognize that term to be used for wire wrapping so I might not get it if it's called specifically 'beading' wire... that's something different here in the US. I don't know where to purchase wire from in the UK that would give the best prices but I do know that there are a few wire and jewelry suppliers there. I normally purchase from Riogrande.com they are the primary supplier for me. Etsy does sell wire also, here is a link to one supplier that I've purchased from before, they sell all the wires too, but in smaller sizes. www.etsy.com/shop/CreatingUnkamen I hope that helps!

      Hi Gail, if you joined using another device such as your phone, you should sign into the TH-cam app using the same email login you used to join. That should give you the access. Can you give me more detail? What did you use to join to begin with? What do you see when you come to my channel from your IPad?
