Many years ago I was in London on business and had time to visit Purdey. The had two SxS and one O/U guns to show. The SxS guns were exquisite in looks and feel. Each one of them was about $60K and since I didn’t have that much on me, I passed! Then I picked up the O/U. Beautiful looking but to me, it was one of the worst “feeling” shotguns I’d ever handled. Now, we all know that feel is 100% subjective, but that’s what I felt. That was a long time ago. I’d love to handle one of their modern O/Us and see how they feel.
I really disagree that modern Purdey are an investment. Try selling a pre-owned one? You are not going to find a private buyer and the gun trade will offer you less than 50% of retail. I would buy the best Italian gun and invest the remaining 45/50k properly.
So true. I love beautiful handmade guns but calling it an investment is ridiculous. Buy it because you want to own it. If you want an investment buy the S&P500....

That's a lot of money for $6.50 worth of raw steel and wood... just sayin'. I think there are two questions to ask... 1. Is it 30 times better than a Browning? And do you care that it's not? Beautiful tho...
You don't buy a Purdey for it's budget friendliness. You buy a Purdey because it's a Purdey. A Toyota Corolla might be an excellent vehicle (I own one), but it isn't a Rolls Royce.
They call it a sporter but it’s more game not a fan of the scroll back action everything else I could agree on is this a barrel and action imported and refinished here or is it made here from what I understand it’s very much a machine made gun.
We thought thought this too but they are made more in the U.K then we thought the main part of the gun is built in London not in Italy and I have seen them in London. Thank you for your comment. TSC TV.

All Purdy's are gorgeous works of art, but that plastic case makes me sad. Purdy's must come in a proper case, not plastic
