In 2004 the NFC East had Dallas with 9 Super Bowl appearances, and 5 wins. Washington with 5 appearances, 3 wins. The Giants had 3 appearances and 2 wins. But the Philadelphia Eagles… no Super Bowl wins… and only one appearance… in the 1980 season. 24 years ago. But the lowly Eagles found themselves in the 2004 NFC Championship, this time with a new type of weapon. Weapon X. Tasked with covering the Pro Bowl tight end Alge Crumpler, Brian Dawkins was going to do whatever it took to get the Eagles back to the Super Bowl. In the second quarter, he laid a monster hit on Crumpler, which disrupted the tight end’s focus the rest of the game. So, at a pivotal moment in crunchtime, Dawkins stole a ball intended for Crumpler to completely swing the momentum.

Bdawk wasn't a "new weapon" for the Eagles in the 2004 NFC Championship.
That was his 9th season on the Eagles by then. He had already long established himself as one of the very best safeties in the league by 2004.

@@TheGridironYT Reed is widely regarded as the best FS in NFL history. There's was only 2 players Tom Brady and Bill Belichick feared. 52 and 20. Ray and Reed. Brady would literally have "FIND 20" written on his wristband when facing the ravens.
Depends on what you want in safety. Reed played more traditional and had a lot of success. But dawkins played everywhere. Reed had a lot more ints then dawkins but if you add in other things like sacks and forced fumbles tackles etc. Dawkins beats Reed in those categories.
