If after listening to all the evidence, Republican senators choose to not convict Trump, then the voters can know what their senators are willing to do to stay true to their oath of office. Remember even if the senator might think the trial is unconstitutional, that question has been decided by the senate. The questions before the senators (all jurists) is now all about “did Trump incite the violence and insurrection?” If the evidence says yes, then the oaths the senators swore before the trial require them to vote to convict. Hiding behind an excuse of “unconstitutional” is not an option. The senate has decided it IS constitutional.
