I really LOVED the caution album. It felt like she was finally moving away from the overproduced and outlandish vocals of MIAM and went for a more realistic approach with songs she can actually sing in a live setting. Also this was my first time seeing Mariah live and it was honestly one of the greatest experiences of my life🥹
I personally adore the insane beyond the limits vocals - that's what crazy Mimi does best and why I stanned in the 1st place. But Caution is undeniably such a strong R&B record!
🤩 This is one of my favourite songs from Mariah - the song depict a metaphorical "portrait" of herself, showing a carefully curated image that hides deeper emotional complexities. It speaks to the experience of feeling misunderstood, facing challenges, and continuing to present strength even when dealing with hardships in private. It truly represents what she is going through now.
I find Portrait to be the mature version of Daydream's Looking In. Both songs provide a glimpse into the emotional complexity behind her public persona, with Portrait offering a continuation or evolution of the themes found in Looking In. They both reflect her struggles with identity, vulnerability, and maintaining composure in the face of inner turmoil.
I’m a definite lamb….i wonder how she feels not being able to just sing so freely and let it rip anymore..singing live these days , it seems she has to measure every phrase so carefully because one wrong move and her voice will crack. That has to be hard for her. But I’m a fan for life and I’ve enjoyed everything she’s given us
I'm sure it's very challenging for her and, in all honesty, I wish she could speak freely about it in interviews instead of the typical **throws whistle, asks interviewer if THEY think her voice has changed** response. BUT I don't think we'll ever hear her speak freely about that because unfortunately people are SO quick to write Mariah off and count her out, so she will never give those individuals any fuel. For musicians, it would be such an interesting conversation and cautionary tale. But most music commentators are not musicians and would just use it as fodder to tear her down. I respect that we'll just never know her honest feelings about the course of her vocal abilities.
I was actually there when she performed it live so beautiful and amazing vocals! I miss it so much! Really I hope she sings like this again soon it’s beautiful and raw I pray she has the confidence and strength to give her all no matter what people say! Prayers and love to her always
Caution Era is so precious, it’s like the last time we lamps were blessed with her real voice, many live attempts, rare songs requested, and most importantly her energy. It seems like a long long time but it's just 6 years apart, I wish in her upcoming Christmas tour she would shorten her setlist, it could be just a one-hour show with more live vocals than a perfectly pre-recorded three-hour show.
Love this, how she performed this really suited her voice, right at the end I couldn't tell if she was just feeling the emotion of the song or if indeed she was questioning in her head if she sounded good or how she wanted to but if she was it's like please mariah just believe in yourself live performances aren't about perfection but anyway sorry away on a tangent she was probably just feeling the song, really liked this, great job, and thanks for posting 😊
So raw and that’s why she don’t need to sing difficult songs to prove anything and then lip all the time ! She should have at least snippets of live vocals like this ❤
The caution tour provided so much legitimate reason to actually be optimistic about being a lamb. The tour setlist and arrangements really surprised me for the better.
More than disappointing. Lack of energy, she is not even trying. She doesn't care anymore. Caution was her last great vocal era. I love that era so much.
@maximo240693 She's working and performing 5 to 6 days a week and constantly traveling! She's exhausted and is taking care of 2 children. She is dealing with the death of two family members who subsequently died on the same day. Some of yall ask to much out of someone!! You act like this women owes you something when in reality she doesn't owe you a blink of an eye!
It's mainly Houston and Atlanta but also bits of Irving and Atlantic City! Louisville is the only other time she performed it but I couldn't find any footage so it's not included.
@@justinelspr indeed she doesn't need it but we can agree that it's definitely not a bad thing to make her beat The Beatles and on top lol The movement needs to be pushed by her fan pages and I don't think they took it seriously, so it never happened

byee forgot the comma
changes the whole meaning 🌚
Agree !! The vocals were defo more realistic and suits her current voice

except she still had to lip all the climaxes lol
@@nh2201 she didn’t have to, but she did*
Such an underrated ballad from her 🥺😍
The whole album
Caution is such an underrated gem. ❤
@@romulo_lupini love this album sm 😢
She actually sang a lot more live than I initially expected! If only the other Caution songs got that treatment😭 (the distance in particular)

yess
it’s the « portrait of her life » indeed
Caution album is so underrated. Top grade album.

I love this “raw” performances. 100 times better that a pre-recorded version.
So full of… passion, emotion, love❤

Love this song. Caution is such an underrated album no skips at all. 🥹❤
She actually sounds so much like the studio version😍
wait not me thinking you were being shady 😭
weren’t they lipped parts in this tho?
@@whoevr not in my fully live edit💀 that was the point of this video😭
@@whoevr nope, only a couple notes in the climax were lipped in the full performance, but they were cut out here!

My favorite from Caution 😭❤️
Wow. I miss her singing live like this

She should release all her concerts for streaming 😭
The tone 😍😭🦋
She should do a medley of Looking in and Portrait, 2 different songs melodically but Portrait is a continuation of Looking in🥺
remember when she released portrait as a single - and i didn’t like it at first but then it slightly grew on me but then i forgot it existed 😍
miss the time when Mariah still tried her best to sing live. Her recent lipped-and-kept-looking-at-the-monitor concerts were disappointing.
Have you even been to any shows ?

Sad, but truth 💔
@@Tampabruh To be real, that could be her cue to take a moment (a long one) away from stage performances. We don't need a Glitter 2.0 breakdown.
Ooh the ending was smart!
the fact that Mariah stopped singing portrait during the caution tour because she cried everytime she sang it
😢😢😢
Good performance 🔥
So gooood
I miss her
Can you do a full live cut of Fly Like A Bird?
Mariah so much girly
Mulher maravilhosa Love cheiro 🔥🔥🔥🌹🌹🦋🌻🎻🍭💎🧚🇧🇷

Petals 4.0 ❤
😢
Wait, she actually sounds good??
Side subject:
I think we should start a movement and push one of mariah's songs to hit #1 on billboard. I vote for Never too Far from Glitter album
y'all have been saying this since forever and it never happened💀 let's just accept that mariah doesn't need another #1 she proved herself already

one of Mariah's last performances, where you could still hear the remnants of her former talent. :(
former talent is crazy
