  • This is the review most of you were waiting for. My own car, a 2011 Vw POLO vivo, came under the microscope and yes it might not be perfect, just like my review, but I enjoy bringing this content to you guys.

    Got my vivo since 2011. Very very easy to drive, steering is a bit numb but not completely dead. My one however was the very first gen vivo with no abs or air con. I do wish it had a/c sometimes tho. Long distance driving is very good and capable. I did a trip from cpt to oudtshoorn on a tank and did about 650 km. My wallet is very happy about that🤣. Mechanically it is built like a tank and so far with a regular service i have zero problems.

      That is awesome to hear. I'm glad that your vivo is treating you so well. If you want, you can always fit a a/c in your car to enjoy nice cool air and even retro fit the complete ABS system. They are cheap if you go to a spares/scrapyard if you salvage them from broken vivo's

    I saw your previous mods, i want to change my polo vivo seat with a polo seat with arm rest..is that possible....or must i try and change the rear cupholders to a arm rest behind the gear lever...hope it makes sense?

      Yes it's doable. As long as you get the rails of the new seat to match up with the existing seat's frame rails then you won't have issues. I am not sure on the armrest in the console area. Although the panel is removable, getting something that fits there might prove to be tough, but if you can do it, then go for it. It's always nice to have an armrest in another location rather than just in the doors

    I'm considering this car. How many km does a full tank last you?

    • @360-Speed
      @360-Speed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I drive normally and only in town, I get between 640-670 km on a tank. Open road driving increases it, depending on your driving conditions, ie sitting in traffic, driving with the a/c on everyday and so on

      @@360-Speed thanks for the response. That's sounds reasonable for around town

    Greetings from Bergvliet, Cape town. My family have a 2011 model Ford Figo 1.4 petrol and, to be honest, as a blind person I would rather take the Polo Vivo with the 1.6l engine over the Figo. The engine doesn't sound as distinct as I would like it to be and the exhaust has a bit of a throaty and sporty drone. The ride quality is also not that great either. What I really like about the 1.6l Vw engines in the Golf 4, 5 and 6 and in the Polo and Polo vivo is thatI can identify them by a sort of metallic tapping sound in all 4 cylinders when reving and accelerating, I don't know how else to describe it, when listening from the front and the exhaust is nice and quiet but it gives off a nice deep hum. If I had to buy a Ford Figo though I would take the Fiesta on which it is based rather than taking a straight Figo because of the chances of getting hold of one with the 1.6l petrol engine.

      Your description of the vw 1.6 engine is so accurate. My sister has the 1.6 classic and I can hear the difference in the sound and I also prefer the 1.6. Even if it is stock, you get a sporty induction sound under load and I quite like it, considering that you as the driver will hear it, but from the outside it won't sound like you cut extra holes in your airbox

      Yeah, I was referring to that of the sound from outside because that's how I, as a blind person, identify car engines and exhaust systems through their sounds. Yes, I've also noticed a bit of induction sound when inside the car from experience as a passenger. The Figo and the 1.4l Fiesta that it is based on unfortunately don't have those sound characteristics, our Figo has a sort of diesel-like sound from the engine under acceleration but not exactly like a diesel, rather than the metalic tapping sound from all cylinders in a Vw engine, and the exhaust system has a bit of a throaty and sporty drone which I'm not really a huge fan of in a typical every day car. I think the best stock exhausts from Ford come from the Bantam bakkies because they give off a quiet but deep hum like the exhausts from Vw. If Ford had installed those on the Figo-shape Fiesta and the Figo itself then I would consider them as second options.
