This is a detailed explanation of how to sketch the path of an insect moving on the surfaces of a cone starting from a point on the base and returns to the same point after moving around it by the shortest route. Concept of development of surface is used to solve this problem. In this problem development of lateral surface of a cone showing the shortest path of insect is drawn. This problem is visualized by using solid models of cone. More over other two similar type of problems are also discussed.
