Just got mine , had pinion 16t and a 25t horn plus motor bolts , just running the spectrum combo 150 esc with 2050kv cos that was the only thing available, added a motor fan and using radiolink radio plus savox 1210 (444oz on 7.4v) waiting on inner fenders from scorcher, so far seems like a nice truck
I'm a repeat customer of power hd servos. I've used them in several different builds, always paired with a glitch buster . I've never had a single problem, I always set my end points with a little room for impacts.
Nice and great vídeo. One issue I have in mine, I use same ESC, its about screws, they dont match in their holes. Did you force them to match? Or did you make a new holes? Thank you for your time and your shared effort.
How about the performance of Hobbywing 4274? Does it have a better motor than RTR? Have you changed the length of the motor cable?? I'm afraid the motor cable is not long enough, thank you
Awesome time lapse!! 😁. Thx for building it for me! I know I would not have had the patience to shave some of those parts and get a new servo horn! 😂😅😅.
@@branhamphotos5354 different strokes for different folks. The cool colurway and then enhanced aluminum parts are nice. It’s toe mato. Toe mayto kinda thing. I think rtr has best value for sure
anyone who’s curious on the max 8 and the 2200 motor on this truck it’s alright if you like running a track with close turns and more people around but a heat sink is needed. It’s fast enough on 6s but recommend only going 6s on a short mah pack and a FEW laps just to shut the big mouth up and mainly staying on 4s. To some it up if you already have the max 8 ,yes it will do just fine in the Mojave with a heat sink but if you are planning on buying a motor for the Mojave just get the max 6 , it opens up the variety of ways you can use this truck
That has got to be one of my favourite questions :). Okay soooo It all depends on how confident you feel. If you use good rc grade tools (mip) and have a can do attitude and some mechanical know how (Lego, worked on a lawn mower, maybe tinkering on things) and have the willingness to learn you are going to be just fine. The other thing I would do is buy it local with the electronics and ask the people there if they would be able to “go over” what you built before you run it . However if you have them “go over” it you might be apt to make a mistake Whereas if you just go for it and follow the instructions you will Probabaly do just fine. I apologize for the long answer but there are MANY variables. I SAY GO FOR IT AND HAVE FUN :). you will learn some new skill and it will be crazy rewarding :). Good luck
Thanks for the reply Am not a handyman but Good flowing instruction There aren't any hobby store in my city so am hesitate But videos like yours help Thanks
I honestly think that the diffs would get destroyed on 8s long term. A good 6s can and something like a Max 6 esc would probably be perfect. Great video as usual. I considering getting one of these. I got and extra motor and ESC laying around. I would just need a servo. I just got too many toys already 🤣
The proprietary servo horn is annoying for sure. They should have just gone with a standard aluminum one. Thankfully my exb did come with motor mount screws but no pinion. A pinion isnt even listed as needed on their site. Why not say motor and pinion but they dont.
Yeah. You know with anything these days the little stuff goes along way. Maybe arrma will listen and make stuff even more complete in the future. I always love getting an axial or Tamiya kit and having lots of extra stuff that they come with. Thanks for the comment
@@joseCalderon1976 yep its absurd. Especially since everything ive seen says the spektrum servo SUCKS regardless of the application. Once I get the money I'll likely guy a spare servo and horn for each of my cars for when they start breaking (Ive got 7 since getting into the hobby 10 days ago with two 3s in an vorteks and rustler, three 6s with a kraton, notorious and talion, a mojave and now a losi dbxle)
@@ChrisHouseHobby for sure. It just sucks when trying to get everything for a build you check and nothing says anything about a pinion. For me im lucky that i have a good hobby store 30 minutes away but thats still an hour and a half out of my time if im in a rush.
Man that 23T servo horn is so brain damaged, what the heck are they thinking? I just got mine and sure enough it came with a 23T servo horn in 2022! Definitely got a non overpriced third party servo horn, in your face Arrma! On the positive side: they included the motor mounting screws, M4x10 . As for the pinion... yeah it stinks, but since you can choose your motor it makes sense you have to deal with your gearing. Looking forward to run it.
LOLS at E means expensive. Yes it was LOL I got my exb yesterday and a Castle Creations Mamba Monster X 8S 1/6 ESC/Motor Combo w/1717 Sensored Motor Ill likely run it 6s mostly but will grab a couple 4c batteries to blow a friends mojave blx away.
As time has passed 8s systems have improved. The Mojave has small diffs and an average sized drivetrain that being said we see lots of hobbyists ram the biggest system they can find in the Mojave to be met with a super unreliable platform. That being said the Mojave rocks. You just gotta be nice to them and realize that it’s a Typhon 6s, stretched, widened , 2x the weight and less aerodynamic. Also over the last couple of years we have noticed everyone just runs the off-road stuff on 6s around here… the on road (felony limitless and infraction ) is another story.
I got you...thinking about putting a 1650kv motor in my Kraton 6s..but will use a 15 tooth or smaller pinion gear..because from experience I shoved a 23 tooth pinion gear in the stock 2050 motor which heated the motor up to 310 degrees..( stupid of me but I'm a rookie to Rc so be easy on me) and it stopped working. Even the center diff got over 200F. So I learn from experience. Less KV bigger pinion...more KV smaller pinion...
sure it has held up grate for him,,, as time as moved on I really like ultra performance servos for these rigs... reefs, coreless etc but everyone has a budget
Just bought mine over Christmas and it actually came with the 25T servo horn, Motor mount Screws, and the pinion gear.
I have mine in the trunk of my car. I was getting nervous about having to shop for screws xD

I just don't understand why they did that with the damn servo horn. So we need to replace that horn with a standard one correct? Hehe

LMAO word for word same complaints about this build. Subscribed.
They revised these EXBs to include 23T horns and no pinion. Bought mine in January and it has a 25T horn and a 16T pinion :S

going with a Max 6 does'nt mean you need to run 8S....its also more powerful on 6S.
