Out of almost all on this list, there is one guy who eventually found his place in WWE again. Matt Bloom, aka Albert aka Tensai, is now head trainer in WWE Performance Center, where he helped train numerous past and present WWE superstars.
Another was Jake Robert's Twice. He was set to have a go with Hogen but after DDTing Hulk the crowd popped and Vince fearing losing the golden goose that was Hulkamania. Later he signed a huge deal with WCW only to have Bill Watts take back the offer just a day before his deal went into effect.
I feel that the Tensai gimmick could've worked for Matt Bloom if they didn't try to play him off as a completely new character, Bloom has a distinct look about him that meant long time wrestling fans would easily recognise him as as his prior gimmick of Albert, which they did, after all you can put ears on a rock but that don't make it a new breed of cat. Instead if they went the route of Albert was returning with a new gimmick after his years training/wrestling in Japan, Albert had co-opted a new wrestling style due to his time in the foreign land, you can keep all the bells and whistle but rather than call him "Lord Tensai" simply rename him to "Lord Albert" which also works on a level with his prior moniker of "Prince Albert" showing that this isn't the same Albert we knew before.
Lord Tensai gimmick had huge potential... If only they brought in some new Japanese star to do it. Once everybody realised it is not a new star, but a man who was already an established star in USA, it just didn't feel right.
Mr Kennedy's push was canceled way before that. His push got canceled from being a McMahon because he was told he had a injury. Turned out the injury wasn't that bad, but they already changed it. The Randy Orton suplex got him fired...
He also got routinely injured and said things to the media WWE told him not to regarding Benoit, the suplex was just the straw the broke the camel's back.
I remember the first time I saw Eva Marie, who I believe was taking on Asuka, and that was the first time I really saw somebody being walked through a match. They could have borrowed from real life and made Jindrak a rival to Orton or HHH. Hell, I'm surprised Vince didn't do just that since he was behind the guy.
I think Peyton Royce should be noted here as well. They broke up the IIconics for a Peyton singles run that never eventuated into anything other than a raw talk segment and one match with the champion Asuka. She didnt even get to last a year as a singles competitor before her release.
Peyton wasn't really a true single competitor though was she? as i remember the bulk of her time post IIconincs was in that stupid "odd couple" pairing with Lacey Evans that they kept trying to push while Billie Kay was actually doing her on thing and getting herself over as a solo act on the other brand.
Tensai's run was a failure to launch right from day one. As soon as he unmasked himself, he was met with "Albert" chants. The fact that he was dressed in Japanese garb with a Japanese name and Japanese characters all over his face, but didn't look even remotely Japanese certainly didn't help. I also heard a story that a big part of the reason his run was canned so quickly was that Yoshi Tatsu complained to management that it was offensive to his culture. I can't say whether that's true or not, but if it is, I'm kind of surprised Tatsu had the pull to influence their decision.
It was a real shame. When he first arrived his gimmick had a bit more depth to it than 'Evil Foreign Guy', he was an American citizen who suffered unfair treatment in the wake of 9/11. That gimmick had places to go, so it was a shame when they went lazy with it and made him generic. The horrible timing of the terrorist angle, and WWE's dumbass decision to still air the angle in the US and Canada, killed the guy's career. He did what he was asked and got shafted.
Poor Mark Capani. Given a horrible gimmick but made it get over. Then rather than bring him back with a different gimmick they dumped him like it was his fault. It was the Vince and the writers that fucked up

Sadly wwe was all she wanted as far as wrestling goes and she never degraded herself with outlaw mud show garbage wrestling. Although she could have gotten more experienced and made a comeback I think she is happy with her other ventures now.

The Lord Tensai gimmick had real potential, but the fans recognized Matt Bloom as Albert/A Train and WWE couldn't sell him as Lord Tensai.

Mustafa Ali losing his big push because of injury and the rise of Kofi-mania should definitely make another of these lists
