    My jaw dropped when you said 326 items - you GO girl!! I'm just starting my little crochet business and so far I have 11 items ready... only 290 to go! 🤣

      To clarify, that was the ideal list lol. The ideal list is different, usually by a lot, than the actually finished list lol. But it's nice to have a reference point nonetheless .

    Yessssss! The thing I love about owning a crochet buisness is making whatever the heck I feel like for markets! It keeps it fun when I can buy patterns and make knew things!

      Omg literally same! And I know this video is a little bit old now, but I still use a very similar technique. Only now, I just put all my event patterns in a stack and randomly select one to make. If I'm really feeling it, I'll make it a couple few times. If I'm not, I'll just make it once and play again!

    Another good one! I could never continue to crochet if I had to make stuff I don't like. I'm on Etsy all the time buying patterns that I think are adorable! I do watch market videos and will make what I hear sells well. But I still have to like making them.

      @WorksofWhimsyCrochetCo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same. I've seen plenty of stuff sell that I have no interest working on, so I don't make those things. But if people had good luck selling something that looks fun to make, I'll add it to my "to make" list lol.

    I feel exactly the same. I make what I want to make. Whatever inspires me.

      It's the best in my opinion! And on Etsy, my best listing is my custom order listing, so that's when I make things that I don't always 100% want to make but I know is wanted (because the customer already ordered and paid)! So that's a good system I think. And sometimes the custom orders give me ideas of things to make for markets.

    I love how helpful your information is to others. I have not had success in selling my items, our area is small and rural and I constantly get told that products aren't worth the price no matter how I price them. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, lol.

      You've not provided a ton of information, but if I had to guess, your issue is you're not selling to the right people. For example, I would never try to sell my stuff in a flea market. People in flea markets are bargain shoppers. Crochet items are luxury products. It has no necessary purpose (like food would be a necessity). It's not something that can really be sold to bargain shoppers. So, if the markets you're doing are kind of swap meet style, that wouldn't be the ideal vibe. And I live rural too, so I usually travel 30 minutes or more to events. I know that's not doable for everybody, but it's something to consider, if you can. And another thing to consider is, how are you selling yourself/your business? I'm not saying you need a very expensive set up, BUT the nicer your set up looks, the more expensive your products look. Like, in a good way. So, if your table cloth is like vinyl from the dollar store, it's not going to look as nice or as professional as a cloth one. If all your bins are all mismatched and look like you've picked them up at the local thrift store, it's going to give "rummage sale" vibes. You don't need super fancy things, you can still use dollar store bins/baskets, but try to keep the color scheme consistent and that helps to give you set up a more polished look.

    I'm glad I found your channel. I'm going to give you a shout out on my channel. I loved everything you showed today. I'm prepping for 2 markets right now. One April 27th and one for August. My friend and I do them together. We also have one coming in the fall. I try to only do like 3 q year because I do work full time so it's hard for me to build up my inventory

      I understand that. Market prep is so time consuming and that's not just making product either! So, I definitely understand! And I subbed to your channel! I'm excited to meet another crochet TH-camr! Good luck at your upcoming markets!

      lol Maybe, but don't count on it because I only know how to make like 2 things and sometimes I have to redo them because I mess them up haha.

    Thank you so much for your tips and ideas. I agree with you: If you do not like making something it will not be fun and it may take you longer. I am currently working on a c2c graphgan and it is stressing me out with all the color changes. It will be a while before I do another one. Keep the videos coming, great information!

    • @WorksofWhimsyCrochetCo
      @WorksofWhimsyCrochetCo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Omg, I love the look of graphgans bt I don't think I have the discipline it would take to finish one lol. Even if I worked on one that was something I really liked lol.

    Is the bat your own pattern? If not do u have a link? Loved the video! I "gamify" everything in my life, lol! And there is nothing better than being able to check off a list!

    • @WorksofWhimsyCrochetCo
      @WorksofWhimsyCrochetCo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love lists! I'm very "type A" personality, so I like to do lists and goal setting and writing things down. Helps me feel organized and more productive haha. And the bat that I showed isn't my bat. It's a pattern I got off of Etsy! I'm still working on my halloween patterns. But here's the link to the one I purchased: www.etsy.com/listing/1269505182/mini-bat?click_key=ed359b7983610a61fb51fba381af63d8767bc846%3A1269505182&click_sum=6d8c729f&ref=shop_home_recs_6&sts=1
