Hiking at Gunung Serapi Hike | Matang Mountain | Kuching Sarawak

Kuching’s most famous peak is Gunung Santubong, but its tallest is Gunung Serapi. Though, its peak is inaccessible to the public, its nearby view point is a great way to round off any outdoor lover’s trip to this city.
Part of Southern Sarawak’s Matang Mountain range, whose commanding presence is visible from Kuching, Gunung Serapi is located within Kubah National Park, one of 4 that encircle the city.
Just a half hour drive from the city, there are 6 trails to explore within the park (distance and estimated time one-way):
The Belian trail, 1429 metres, 45 minutes
The Main trail, 1912 metres, 1 hour 15 minutes
The Selang trail, 1567 metres, 1 hour
The Rayu trail (to Matang Wildlife Centre), 3830 metres, 3 1/2 hours
The Waterfall trail, 1600 metres, 1 hour
The Summit trail, 5 kilometres, 3 1/2 hours
