There are more than 50 tribes still existing or extinct in Sarawak but only the major tribes are listed in the Malaysian Federal Constitution. I went to the village about 45 minutes drive away from Kuching’s city centre. I learned some more about Sarawak’s tribes.

I usually don't like "tourist attractions" but I think the Sarawak Cultural Village is one of the few I would recommend to everyone. It's the only way to get a sample of all the ethnic groups without spending weeks and lots of $. The longhouses are all well made and pretty accurate and it's relaxing to walk around the grounds.

I have lived in Sarawak for 20 years and I think the Orang Ulu girls are the prettiest of the lot and the Kayan boys are handsome🤭 though Henry Golding is part IBAN, he is super kacak... aiee!🥰

I got orang Ulu friend while studying in UITM yeah she is really beautiful and definitely gergeous. I can't describe how she looks like. But I feel like she is really beautiful compared with some of another tribe in Sarawak I met before.

Point of correction. Francisca Luhong and Bonnie Gunyau is not Iban.
Francisca James was born in Kuching, Sarawak, is a mixed of Kayan, Kenyah, and Iban with her native roots of Dayak. (says on her website) . Bonnie Bunyau Gustin is Bidayuh (you were right).

We used to be able to access the homes of Bidayuh, etc, quite freely….long ago.
But it is disturbing their peace.
So you now need this ‘living museum” for education. I won’t object to it….haha. No choice.
The one at 9:15….sit there, listen to the sapi….in the rain. It is a fantastic healing experience.
