I used to make these with my 2nd grade students for their parent's Christmas presents. We would put the paint inside the clear ornaments, the child would shake it a bit, and then turn the ornament upside down in an egg carton to let the excess paint drain out. When dry, we'd add the hanger back on and decorate it with ribbon. The end product is very much the same except the paint is on the inside.
