Florida has some beautiful countryside. There’s nothing more relaxing to me then just taking a drive down a backroad seeking some scenery or just seeing it here on the screen.. “quarter pounder” Ha ha the museum is awesome! Smile obtained

This was amazing. Dare I say, a new personal favorite? I absolutely love the historical murals, and the creative coverups for utilitarian objects. So well done. And your looming shots of the abandoned tower were haunting. The only thing that would have made it anymore creepier is if the the pay phone had started ringing.
My wife and I moved to Lake Placid in early 1998. At the time the tower was open. At the base of the tower was the Tower Restaurant. The food was good and the prices were very reasonable. I think it cost about $3.00 to ride the elevator up to the tower observation deck. I 've been up in the tower many times, mostly taking family visitors for sightseeing. One reason the tower was closed down to the public was because there was exposed (not in conduit) electrical wiring in the tower stairway to the top (so I read in the local newspaper). I read that on the 4th of July the owners of the tower would view the fireworks at Lake June in the Winter. They could also see the fireworks 15 miles to the north in Sebring, Florida, and also the fireworks in Arcadia, Florida, 30 miles to the west. I've been watching Adam the Woo videos for about 10 years now. I was delighted to see Adam came to Lake Placid, Florida. I think one of the first videos I saw by Adam the Woo was when he visited the now (and for decades) defunct Enchanted Forest in Howard County, Maryland. My wife and I used to live in Ellicott City (an historical small town), just miles from Enchanted Forest.

Hello Adam! Lake Placid is such a nice quiet place. I have always loved the circus and I love the museum with all the clown/circus memories. There are very few traveling circuses left today. I was also glad to see a Seminole woman selling quilts among the picnickers in the park mural. Central Florida was once part of the ancestral homeland of the tribe. Thank you for taking me on another off-the-beaten-path adventure today! Take care & God bless!
I just moved here about a year ago. There are many orange groves here and what about the Caladiums? Come back for more! There are a bunch of lakes here too with many nice boat ramps and fishing. Liked the beginning. The main road from Sebring to Lake Placid has a bear crossing sign too. Don't see that too often.
On route 60 leaving Lake Wales towards Vero Beach is a Panther 🐆 Crossing sign. I had to get a picture and while waiting for my wife to click it, some little ants started their biting or stinging my feet. Got the photo and had some spring water to wash. Up here in Maine, you see Moose and Deer Crossing signs. Best wishes…
Adam! That opening shot! Oh my goodness! The cows? Nice touch! This vlog reminds me of when you were in Marge on the East Coast, and you would whistle in the sunrise! Then burn your mouth on coffee! Lol! I enjoyed this so much! (Except the clowns!)
Emmett Kelly Jr. was born in 1924 in my hometown of Dyersburg TN. There is a plaque on the original building that was the former hospital. Another great snapshot from the road. Love & Respect always.

My best friend lived there for nearly 10 years!! I loved visiting her from Pittsburgh. I’ve been up in that tower and the views were amazing. Next time you should rent a pontoon and check out all of the lakes. Many of them connect via canals.
A lot of stuff to see in that little community town! I made a comment on the Dewey Decimal System at the beginning but I see you brought bgg that in towards the the end. We b.c. sure that a lot in school!
You were down near my neck of the woods!! I’m only 10 miles from Solomon’s Castle in Wauchula and some of my best friends live in Sebring and Lake Placid!!

Love these backroads videos! I recently took a trip and took the long way via many backroads and got to see some pretty cook stuff. Got to do that a lot more often.
Wow, I remember going up that lookout tower! It was terrifying 😖We stayed at Lake June in the Winter in Lake Placid over the summer around 1999. I was nine at the time convinced the basement at the lake house we rented was haunted. Mostly because I'm from South West Florida and had never seen a basement before. 😅 Overall, it was a very nice town and I still love driving through and visiting if we're up that way. Lovely review Adam the Woo! I like the recent travel around central Florida.
Those cows are eerily rowdy, without their usual blank stares. Love it when murals are well painted like these with great form, value and composition. Really like the shot of the Open sign through the rafters of the little building. Nice touch!
This was really fascinating. I loved the murals, & how the train looked as if it were coming out of the picture. Neat! I think there is still mail being delivered via horseback in a rural mountainous area of Tennessee(?) last I heard that was ~10 years ago. I loved the clown museum. Got a kick out of the quarter pounder. You are very fascinating. Some of these small towns have a lot to offer.
Adam, the mural of the bank robbery reminded me of Ma Barker and her boys from the 1930s era. Their crime spree came to an end in a shootout near Lake Weir not far from Ocala. Lake Weir is about as far north of you as Lake Placid is south. Might be a great day-trip for you.
A few years back I was working out there doing electrical work at the Walgreens . A big storm rolled into town and there was a tornado In a cow field across the street . I ended up eating at the Golden Corral . That’s when I had the brilliant idea that West Volusia county, FL needs it’s own golden coral , it would do big boy numbers . A lot of heavy hitters would be tearin it up .
Shows you what I know. I saw the title and thought it was about upper NY State. LOL!. Beautiful sunrise! Moo moo cows! Cool murals. The clown museum was scary. As a kiddie, clowns scared the life out of me. :-O.
I like to switch seats sometimes from the recliner, and to the long couch. I know I had assigned seats due to movie night, but when they're not around and hanging in their room. I just like to move around since I spend most of my time in the living room, just to mention I like to sleep in my recliner to, it's good for my back. As you know the recliner is my assigned seat.
My grandmother lives in a nursing home there, has a small store in Venus near there, and as an entomologist there are lots of cool spots to collect insects like Archbold Biological Station.

I grew up there. Came from Panama the country to America.
Lived in Placid lakes neighborhood. At that time. 4 house in a 4 mile area. 1979 -1988

I learned to water ski at Lake Placid in the 60’s. Just finding out from the video that the tower is closed. 😳☹️
