Daniel Richards after reading your comment I went back to listen to some of Tom’s earlier recordings and you are so right! The fact that he can just stand up and sing like that with no warmup is just amazing. I wish they made it easier to stream this show in the US, I like it better than the version here.

Lonnie Donnegan was one of the UK's biggest stars throught the 50's and 60's and wrote and recorded some of the biggest songs of that era and sparked the Skiffle revolution in the UK and so inspired the Beatles.

The guy who sang Bohemian Rhapsody even kind of resembles Freddie Mercury, in looks and in voice, imo. He even has the teeth!
While I know these shows (especially Got Talent) are fixed in a lot of ways, Tom being the only one to turn doesn’t necessarily mean the stuff between them was fixed
@NinjaRider777R or they're low on spaces and "looking for a specific thing". It's why I think they should have more spaces in the blinds, then another round to whittle it down. Makes it more fair on the people auditioning towards the end, too many times I've seen every judge full on vibing out to someone but they get no turns
Meir Wise not true, there’s actually a video on here from the son explaining the whole thing, that it wasn’t fixed at all, that he was overwhelmed and couldn’t believe he got to sing with Tom. Sometimes things are genuine!
Not only does Tom Jones have an amazing voice, but he's a great coach. Every singer that he's worked with has touched greatness and will never forget it.

I cried when Tom Jones sang. I am a 90s kid but I grew up listening to his songs because my parents love him so so much. Sometimes I tend to forget I actually know most of his songs by heart. He's a gem. ❤ Much love from the Philippines.
I also love his songs despite being born in the early 2000’s, mostly because of my grandma. Tom Jones was her celebrity crush, every time I tell her he’s not that bad looking, she said “You should’ve seen him in his youth.”

@@Mia01Mia01 I wasn't. Yes, the boy has talent. But he has yet to realize that talent. He was singing very closed, almost choking the sound from within. And, I surmise, that came from nervousness and a lack of self confidence. I think if he keeps at it, he's going to go far. With his natural talent and range, once he learns to relax, have confidence in himself, and open up, his voice will be glorious.

It's more subtle, but I like it when the band recognizes a singer is killing it and really kicks in with the enthusiastic backing. If you listen close you can hear when they flip the switch from a professional and competent '8' to a full-on, digging the groove '10'.
I thank the Voice UK for introducing Sir Tom to us, the new generation...it is beautiful to be reminded of how pure music was before.. The man's a legend...

I actually love his version of Let Me Down better than the original singer. I think he sounded great, but probably the judges were looking for a wow moment, which the song doesn't really have. But I think he got a really nice low voice. Quite a sexy voice
@@Kim-rn7et They seemed to be too busy singing along and then getting the crowd to sing along. In a way maybe some people would think that it's an honor to have that happen... especially if a judge sings with you, but it just seemed like they were singing as they would with the radio and not actually Listening to him after the beginning. I felt bad for him that they didn't turn AND that they didn't pay more attention. IMO if you're a judge and you love the song and think they are doing a pretty good job and you want to sing along and you have a mic and people will hear you (maybe more than the the person doing the audition) then turn your chair and respect them at least. (Yes I know he got to sing with a judge later, but it's not the same as them turning their chairs.)

My favourite moments here are when the judges came up to these young singers and give them some pointers on how to structure their performance when no one turned for them. Heartwarming.
Man oh man, that duet with Mr. Tom Jones was a special treat for sure. And that young man's harmonies were on point there at the end, too. I can't get that show in my area, but I hope he went far, or got a deal from some label.
