    In desperate times during the past, I purchased kitchen worktop off cuts for a bench top. Also used pallet wood layered in a horizontal/vertical/horizontal configuration. Glued & screwed together. The best was with reclaimed scaffolding boards. But non looked as tidy as yours 👍

      Yes the scaffolding boards sounds like a neat solution. I have never tried that but I have also used many other different things in the past but this time I thought I would make it a little tidy’er. I do think that a plywood top would have been better but let’s see how long it lasts 😊

    I think the Davit ideally situated where it is, it is far easier to lower a dingy from there and the engineering on it looks really strong, but, its your boat and its you and Heidi who are going to live with it, Bench is coming on great, OSB is absolutely fine for a workbench as long as it is kept dry. Thanks for sharing!

      I think you are right.We just have to modify the “foot” of the davit so that it can fit next to the new portholes. And yes I agree. As long as we can keep the workbench dry it should be fine. Otherwise we can always change it 😊👍

      Yep I agree 100%. It’s not really good at any of the two 😅

    Hi I like your videos, good work on the bench top, make sure you put some upright supports under the area of your vice, for the boat: I think i would make a structure full width at the rear to support solar panels and hang the davits from that, and don't forget a swim platform, all the best, Al

      @SYCarla  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you very much. That really means a lot. 😊 Yes we have thought af that solution too. It would be really nice to have it all in one because as you say we are going to need the room for solar panels as well. I think we have to start making som drawings 😊 and yes we must definitely remember som kind of swim platform.. 😊 all the best 🇩🇰

    I feel your pain looking for a friggin' pencil!!!! I never got in the habit of wearing a carpenter's belt... something I need to start doing!

    • @SYCarla
      @SYCarla  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes exactly!! I think I need to start wearing one as well or at least get some brightly coloured pencils 😂😂

    I would suggest that ( now that you already are doing so much work ) you build a swim platform that is large enough to house a dingy , then you won’t need the davits anymore

    • @SYCarla
      @SYCarla  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That sounds really interesting! But wouldn’t it be quite big? Or what do you have in mind?

    • @hagn7350
      @hagn7350 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah , it would be quite big , but ,think of the space you will have when the dingy is in the water , have a beer on the platform at sunset is kinda nice ( or just a cup of coffee in the morning when the sunrise is )

    • @hagn7350
      @hagn7350 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Another plus is that the dingy is out of the water while under way and not in the way while docking

    • @SYCarla
      @SYCarla  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well you do make a good case with a beer in the sunset and all 🤩 I am still a little worried about the size though. But you have definitely got us thinking 😁👍👍

    I think you should leave the davits right where the are. It seem well engineered and pretty strong and secure.

    • @SYCarla
      @SYCarla  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes I think you are right. We just have to find a way to fit both the davits and two new portholes. 😊

    Привет!!! Хороший верстак получается! Только я не понял, почему листы так узко нарезаны? Они так продаются? Смотрел, смотрел, но так и не рассмотрел , что за мотоцикл, какая марка и как называется. Ты делаешь и делаешь навесы, скоро ангар получится 😉. Но у вас там зима конечно не как у нас. У меня снега по колено... Шлюпбалки может сбоку или сверху приделать? Тогда с лесенкой для спуска в воду нужно что-нибудь придумать...

      I dont know why the sheets are cut that narrow either. It makes no sense. All other sheets in the store are double the width… And the motorcycle is a Norton 2 cyl and pretty old. 😊 but what model exactly I don’t know. No luckily our winters is not as harsh as yours 😅 yea I think we are going to reattach the davits where they were or maybe on deck. It depends on the size of portholes we get for the back. 😊

    Never wait with buying good tools and machinery, especially with such a project ahead. When I was younger I made the same mistake and this always resulted in a lot of irritations and sometimes even dangerous situation by keep on using old machinery. And the quality of the work often became so so. After you will buy for instance a good tablesaw you will ask yourself why you did not buy one a lot earlier. Instead of being irritated about your machine already before cutting a piece of wood you will like to cut a piece of wood.

      You are absolutely right. We are slowly coming to the same conclusion 😅. And hopefully now with the workshop taking shape we will be able to store the tools properly 😊👍
