    Your channel was the first wildlife photography channel I subbed to, I've learnt alot from you in the last 18months and put it into practice. This style of wildlife vlogging is something I've been meaning to do at my local lake , the only issue is it is a very public area , and until we are allowed to travel about further will have to put it on hold.
    Enjoy your content thank you. Atb Joe

    Another good one Paul. The B roll was informative, the B roll I am not into is people spending half of the vlog walking around. Where I am in Ohio I am spending my time walking around with binocks looking for the migrant birds coming back and starting nesting.

    I wish I had a lot of time to sit around waiting the bird shot,..lol !
    Working full time limits my time in the field, so going to busy park were there's are use to humans is a big advantage to me .

    Hi Paul. Many thanks for your very enjoyable videos. Question : I use the Canon 500 mm f 4. like you but with a 5Dmk4. Do you microadjust your lenses. I think mine front focus a bit.

    • @PaulMiguelPhotography
      @PaulMiguelPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had to adjust in the past. My 1DX seemed spot on with the lens. I've never changed anything. Funnily enough I had to micro-adjust with my 1D mkiv. Quite a lot.

    Hi paul, Love your videos. I have the 7d mark ii and the 400 5.6 and I'm having a lot of difficulty getting super sharp photos unless I'm really close to the subject. Any suggestions?

    • @PaulMiguelPhotography
      @PaulMiguelPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It might depend how close. If too far away and crop down, they will never look sharp.

    Hi Paul I notice you have a different foot on your lens, may I ask what make and why did you change?

    • @PaulMiguelPhotography
      @PaulMiguelPhotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a Kirk plate - which fits straight onto most gimbal heads (arca swiss style) instead of having to add a plate to the original foot. But now I use this manfrotto head - I need a plate anyway!

    Im debating on saving up for that 500mm but a 600 sounds nice. Since the verson two and the 600mm are so pricey. I have the 400mm f5.6 at the moment awesome lens. Do you still ise the same 500mm? Or did you get a newer version?

    Like the change up in style and appreciate the reminder that you don’t always get what you set out to do, I think you should come back to this location several more times til you get the exact shot you were looking for (don’t give up too easily). I am curious as to whether there was an opportunity to shoot from the other side of the pond where the Coots we getting the material and maybe it was clearer from there and since you had 700mm to work with seems like you could manage to fill the frame...

    • @PaulMiguelPhotography
      @PaulMiguelPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Dennis. Really difficult shooting - so I can get quite close to where they were getting material but it's always against bright water and more in to the light. There's also trees in the way!

    Animal behaviour is one of my favourite subjects, did a diploma in it years back and have a couple of good books if you’re interested... I got an Egret foot stomping in my last video to shoo the fish up from the pond floor, great to watch..No one wants numbum in the whole area 😫😳😫😂.. Great vlog shots and footage and well presented as always buddy enjoyed that!!!

    Good stuff Paul. Like the style and the thought behind this series (?). I'm going to have to find somewhere similar I think - I'm inspired! - now that the weather is getting a wee bit warmer. Location finding is one of the hardest things for me to be honest - somewhere close to home but not on busy dog walker trails. Ill keep searching 😊

    • @PaulMiguelPhotography
      @PaulMiguelPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice to hear from you Alan. It's so hard to find the right location. My main solution is just to go there early morning.. although you can still get the dog walkers!

    Hi there, Paul! Great footage. Coot was actually my very first bird portrait (as in: actual close-up shot) I managed to capture. Coots are kind of unique in that they are very friendly looking, specifically their beaks are shaped such that they always look (to me anyway) as though they're smiling all the time. Also their immensly long (in relation to their body) fingers look sort of unusual. They also seem very trustful, at least when you try to feed them. They are way less timid than, say, mallards, a specie that is so common here. It's a shame coots are actually white-tailed eagles' most favorite food :( At least here in Poland. If you care to take a look, I've recently also managed to capture some behaviour, namely goldeneyes! My flickr is 'pawelswildlifephotos'. Best regards Paul!

    Hi Paul, fascinating video as ever - thanks so much for posting. I definitely like this style and am looking forward to seeing how the coot nest develops over the coming weeks. One point, and I do stand to be corrected on this, the reed bunting was perched on a plant called reed mace, rather than bull rush I think. I learnt that from the late great angling writer, photographer and fisherman John Wilson.

    Enjoyable to see how you set up for this, and good to know I'm not the only one that can spend 2 hours failing to get the shot they want. I did something similar with some grebes last year, photographing the nest building, eggs and then the chicks growing up. I got really attached to them.

    Thank you. I suspect at least some viewers will find this helpful, seeing how you set up, listening to your explanation of what you were shooting for, and even expressing the frustration we all face sometimes while trying to get "that" certain image. I was amused watching this after I returned home this afternoon -- I was doing something very similar, having made my way through thick brush to the edge of a pond with the intent of getting images of some Northern Shovelers -- a type of duck in the U.S. -- going through their courtship rites. Keep up the good work, sir!

    It's the red power of castles which tells us where to find what we want to buy. Going next to a grave or the butcher is not much difference in the sense of a vast beach. Damaging your neck is rather interesting as you can gain some bright patches under your boat.
