It's a good perspective actually. I'm very guilty of staying inside in bad weather and just playing it safe with the sunny conditions. Might wanna push my comfort zone this year, ty my dude
Most of us tend to stay indoors during 'bad' weather. However, you are right about getting good shots during varied conditions. It can be challenging but often the images are worth it.
I love shooting in the rain, specially water fowl. And herons when it's windy adds a lot of drama and "scruffiness" to the scene. You can only get so wet anyways, and once you hit the saturation point, it can't get any worse 😅
@@PaulMiguelPhotography Yes! We are close to the south tip of Brazil, almost in the Uruguayan border. Cold and damp autumn. Wonderful fields around. Love to photograph Patagonia. My wife and me love your channel.
Wet weather is AMAZING for nature photography. I had a fantastic workshop with you in the rain and got some fantastic shots-just be careful when waking over bridges.......
I HATE WIND! sorry just had to get that out there lol, love a bit of rain but any weather with wind involved I cant stand, great vid buddy, i'm at bempton cliffs next week FB pm'd ya! .... JP
Love it😍😍😍😍.....England is doing too much with this rain at the moment.....my waterbutts are over flowing.....anyway great video as always very inspiring
Guilty . I to stay indoors when it's raining 🌧 but what you say makes a lot of sense I will try to go out when it's changeable, like you said not to uncommon in the uk. I also have awkward posses with bouts of strong wind . 😳 🤣🤣🤣. Sage advice though, cheers Paul.
I noticed you use the 400 f5.6 with the 1.4x converter. When I used my 1.4x converter on my 100-400 f5.6 I lost autofocus. There was a fix of taping over two of the communication pins on the converter. You then had a working but sluggish, hunting autofocus. Do you have a problem? As I am considering the 400 f5.6 having sold the big zoom, too heavy for me.
@@PaulMiguelPhotography tricky. You suggest in a past review that 5D mklll will work, but a comprehensive list I have seen online says that the 400 + 1.4 combination won’t focus. An expensive gamble lol. Thanks for your answers.
Thanks for the advice but I wont be taking it at my age ( 66&some ) with certain health issues I would rather enjoy what I'm doing but for those that can fair play to you. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend.
Brilliant to watch from a rainy Rutland. But its going to be sunny tomorrow. Thanks.

Great shots 👍📷
Good idea, I will go out in raining.
Very useful tips....Liked.

It is challenging.. and sometimes a real effort to do it. But absolutely, the results can be more rewarding than in 'good' weather.
Thank you Paul ... great advice has always

Lots of bad weather in South Brazil, and winter is coming!
Really?

I do agree Graham. I shoot a lot early morning and some evenings, but I've always appreciated the soft light and texture of wet weather.
i love your videos and you show us , that isn`t necessary to have the latest and greatest.
Appreciate that and it's something I like to do.

Great video Paul! People don’t think about taking pics in bad weather but this was quite inspiring.
Thanks so much Jean.

Awkward pose with strong wind, lol! Yes..
Great advise 🤗 especially with the weather lately lol
That was the plan! Thank you.
Some great photos in this one. Impressed.
Very kind, thanks Tom. Going to try do more rain photography. Summer can be really good because it doesn't tend to get as cold, even if raining.
Nice video, Like 306 and Bye from Italy :)
What rainhood would you recommend for olympus 75mm 1.8? Very small 150mm fullframe
I'm sorry, I don't know the equipment well enough.
Thank you Mr Miguel, Super video. :)
cheers Jim.

Sorry for my interference Kevin, but it depends on your camera, i've the 400 F/5.6 with 1.4 extender and have a autofocus on my 1D X.
@@BoxerTys thanks that helps. Mine was a 7D but now a 5D mklll and no longer have the lens so don’t know if it will happen or not. Thanks again.
Same here.
It does depend on the camera. A newer camera body and I think it will work.. but not with older body. but there's a lot of combinations etc.

Hai Paul, at 7:40 use AUTO ISO, and a minimum shutterspeed of... ? haha ;-)
Yeah. Mine is usually set between 1/500 and 1/1000.
Went out in the rain this morning. Now barking and coughing! Had my first jab though so I should be OK
Look after yourself..

the difffused light from a cloudy day
Oh absolutely. I do enjoy that kind of light.
4:18 Good photo!
Why would you buy covers for your gear - surely 1DX and lenses are sealed construction?
Also there's less people around when the weather's bad
Yes.. that's nice too!
