When I was young I wanted to emigrate to America. Now I am 61 years young and still in the Netherlands. I have been to America once (Houston) on my way to Costa Rica for my youngest brother's wedding. Now that I see your videos, I'm starting to get the itch to visit America again before I'm old. I don't know if it will happen, but it is number 1 on my list. And then I will definitely come to your place to fly.
That's a "Dam" good time, happy you could Rise to the occasion, but knew you could because you're full of Hot Air and could have blown it up by your self....Thanks for this Elevated video ! You deserve a Basket of praise !
If you are around Page, be SURE to head over the Antelope Canyon! That's Navajo land and they might give permission to let you fly through the canyon! That would be incredible footage with in slow motion! All of the southwest around there in any direction is just amazing landscapes. Definitely scenic modes...no need for fancy flying....
My buddy, Ken, I’m telling myself that I am you and I am doing all these fantastic things. This is as much fun as the Route 66 adventure and you are just getting started. I wish you safe travels and I look forward to the next segment of your journey. All the best, my friend! - Robert
We had a pilot in the Albuquerque festival and he was able to take us down to skim the water of the Rio Grande. Anyone watching you have to get a ride once in your life.
I ask my friends "Wouldn't you appreciate thumbs up on your video and all the work that went into it?". Hypothetically for most though some have uploaded some videos. And most of them started using the like and subscribe button like it was their own channel.😄 So tell your friends 😅
When it came to the virgin ceremony and the champagne I said to myself well he is most certainly a virgin for that. I remember us talking a few years back at liberty about drinking and you told me about it. This has been on your bucket list for so long really glad you got to experience the rush of flying without pinching more like gripping. Great video can't wait to see your Vegas videos.
Good to see you having a good time. Making life an adventure with hot air balloons and drones just doesn’t get much better. Oh btw, you captured some great shots. Places I may never see in my life so I get to live it through video. You made me feel like I was with you. Adventure on Ken. Great content bud.
I really enjoy your videos. By the way, I did purchase an avata 2 that I fly with my goggles and controller 2, and the avata 2 flies noticeably smoother. I just wish it was a little bit smaller in size for going through small gaps. Keep the videos coming.
I’ve tried to watch as many of your videos as I can. I’ve seen some beautiful places and things that you have filmed. This has to be the most generous scenery that I’ve seen in your videos. This is real “droner boner” video! Have you been out West before? If not, can you believe what you are seeing? Holy cow! It is fun for me to see someone I’m familiar with enjoy these vistas. Keep em’ coming.
Great video! Enjoyed every minute of it. The scenery you captured was spectacular and made me want to take a similar trip myself. Thanks for a very entertaining video. 👍👍👨🦳
Ken, thanks for explaining that taking off and landing in National Parks is not allowed, but how you can legally get drone flights over the Parks. I would hope drone operators carefully research before trying to fly in National Parks and Monument areas!
This isn't the Grand Canyon, nor is it National Park land. While the National Park Service has previously offered up a Policy Memorandum towards prohibiting the use of UAS within park boundaries, there are means for some operations that are perfectly legal. Flight from outside the park boundaries, operations approved by the park superintendent, and operations upon waterways not administered by NPS, among other reasons can be legitimate exceptions.
@@KenHeron I am guessing Ken took off from outside the park boundary, for example at Horseshoe Bend (which is in the park) and landed outside the park, after the overflight of the rim, which makes it entirely legal. Pilot must carefully check opensky, and other apps to make sure they know the boundaries of caution and prohibited areas. I am wondering about over flying over the Navajo land, as I think they don't allow takeoff and landings on their reservation lands without permission and no-fly signs can be seen around the scenic reservation lands quite often.
@@KenHeron Did you get permission to fly within national Monuments? Fly by the dam? Over Navajo tribal land? I tried to fly over Navajo land but was denied. I wanted to fly the dam but that is a no fly zone, did you get permission?
@KenHeron you should come to Australia at some point. I would personally recommend coming around june-july if you want to avoid our heat as our summers can get brutal, and it's currently magpie season. A black and white feathered terrorist. The magpie is probably the most feared animal in Australia.
I've done some bashing and smashing out here. My other's probably something that needs fixed but I don't have tools with me on this trip unfortunately.
Hey Ken, this has nothing to do with the video (which I have watched and enjoyed very much) but I figured I'd let you know, . . . I just got a hardly used Phantom 4! I can't wait for my first flight. It was rainy and a bit windy today so not a good day for a maiden flight. In the past I've picked up a Phantom 1 and a Phantom 2. Each flew nicely. But I am wondering do you have any advice for my first Phantom 4 flight? I also own 3+ Yuneec Typhoon 500Gs and 3+ Horizon Hobby Chromas (also made by Yuneec). So I am not a newbee. I've also talked with you live on the phone a couple times about FAA stuff. Scott W. is the name.
Hey Scott. Just don't fly too far away from you and make sure that you have OEM DJI batteries and not some knock off recreations. That would end badly for you. Happy flying!
@@KenHeron The Phantom came with two OEM batteries that charge up real nice. I think this quad was hardly flown! I got it for just over $300 and that included taxes and shipping. : - )
That's a terrible statement - 'we don't have lateral control'. Seasoned balloon pilots use the air currents at different altitudes to control direction to an extent. No, you can't go wherever you choose, but to suggest that you have no control is not correct
Hey Ken has anyone told you that you look like the lady in the office on the show Tracker? She looks just like you! Who agrees? You look like a middle age lesbian...can I say that?😅
The scenery is absolutely breathtaking! Thank you for sharing nature’s incredible artistry with us!👍💯

Did they change something ? I was under the thoughts that it was not legal to fly the grand canyon, or any national parks ??
Can't fly from their property, but you can fly from outside it, maintaining VLOS of course
This isn't the Grand Canyon, nor is it National Park land.

I did have permission from the tribe. Also, a lot of that land is BLM.

Nice informational video Ken 👍. Just wondering if you or the balloon had the most hot air?
😆🤣😂 , jk

I was in Page the same time you were, just got back from an extended road trip. Some of those places are No-Fly zones. What were you thinking?!?!?!?!
Nope. All legal if you know the rules.

Should have used Litchi to create a waypoint path on your way into the desert so you could follow the waypoints back out of the desert...
Perhaps, but we never expected to get lost of course.
Did this once over Bagan, Myanmar.
What an amazing experience!
Thought the Canyon is a No Drone Zone. We can fly in there?
It depends on the canyon and if you've got the proper documentation.
that tune bro...lol The later flight seems better, did you put new props on after the crash or something? Oh different drone?

Unless you get permission from the tribe
