My fav game of all time - I can still remember all the extra life loops to clock the score board . One Saturday I played all day on one 10p credit - sat on a stool playing with a crowd around me … the owner came over after a few hours and banned me ! Machine was making no money lol … great memories .. thanks for the upload .

My uncle had a "kafenio" back in the day in Athens, a kinda coffee shop where people drink coffee, beers, play backgammon and poker and talk shit to each other while getting drunk, and had a couple arcade cabs, one of them was this. He would give me all the coins I needed to play it, so yeah, i know this game well! You're good!
That's interesting, I played this game in Canada and loved it, my cousin and I spent our summer in Mati Greece in 1987 and the arcade there had this game, we filled it with 20 drachma coins everyday. One day we made it to the final level and beat the game, everyone in the arcade was watching and crowding around us chearing. It's the only arcade game I ever finished and was so disappointed when it just said "thanks, game over" I thought at least we'd get to start over with more men or maybe the difficulty would increase. One of my favorite memories.
Well obviously he has some kind of invincibility cheat... There's no way to eat rockets in the face like no tomorrow and still alive 😂... But generally is a difficult game so i understand. A great game entangled somewhere within my childhood memories ❤️
I am seeing this for the first time since 1987 when I played it in an arcade in Pensacola FL. Just had a hazy recollection of it all these years. I think my game was over at about a minute and a half into this video.
I love this game so much. It is actually one of my best memories of my freshman year of college, as there was one of the SOLAR WARRIOR standup cabs that I would play at the student union arcade. I'd love to get a real one of my own, but have had to make due with a marquee & bezel panel from an original. Thanks for the playthrough!

And I have been to many many many arcades. As an adult I still go to Galloping Ghost arcade in Chicago ..worlds largest arcade. No Soldier of Light or whatever it is called. Must have been Europe only. Only went to one European arcade in London in 1994. Not much different though than an American arcade at the time. Like 50 kids all surrounding either Mortal Kombat 2 or Street Fighter 2 CE. I remember just using my $5 playing Shadow Dancer.

Lolz you wouldn't last 30 seconds without invincibility. This game would let you pass one world if you were a good player- and then world 2 would be ridiculously hard. 😄

It's working from Planet.emu, it can also depend on what version of emulator you're using as the same rom works on certain emulators and other emulators that same game won't, for me Tiger Heli comes to mind.
I didn't know the title of the game i was pretty sure it was called Metroid -- Metroid " arcade " there was everything planet red = Norfair planet blue = Maridia planet green = Brinstar planet rocky brown = Crateria also the final iron planet = Tourian that is , everything coincided

It's hard but possible to beat with one credit. My brother did this. I almost did, but failed in the last planet. Epic epic game. Love it

MAME hooked up to dvd recorder, but I get the benefit as I play these on my CRT tv whilst recording them,...far better than pc screens.
