The scripture citations are wonky. "Gen" for Genesis? Customary to say it fully though written as abbreviation. "Matt" really" Mathew. Those quite fluent in the Bible would easily read out Mathew. Just weird.

Now there’s good honest pastors that been taught wrong, learned wrong and teach so but not intentionally. Just as good as any priest, where sincerity of heart matters much. Yet Orthodox doctrine coincides with the Bible.
Then the Bible is not G-d! It doesn’t even scratch the surface which I can prove any day of the week. Which there’s Holy Tradition which the Bible is part of.

But many will not accept sound doctrine much less truth! Where again personal dynamics working in the back of the mind feed misconstruing of the truth!
Here’s another, a preacher referencing Matthew 5:17 Jesus would fulfill the law! He did this with his death on the cross. I’ve heard this bullpoop! Where if the pastors knew anything, they’d know for any book to go into the New Testament it had to meet criteria established to deter heretical writings in the 4th century! One criteria was whatever went into the New Testament had to cross reference the Old Testament! Some Bibles list these cross references in the median, where it paints a clearer picture. As Matthew 5:17 cross references to Isaiah 42:21 where prophesying of Christ he would meditate on the precepts (underlying basis) of the laws, then would magnify them which is “Fulfilling” the laws) to make it honorable before G-d. Read the whole chapter of Matthew 5, you’ll see examples of Jesus magnifying the laws.
I say all this so if you or anyone else desire truth, you can start by realizing those that have filled you full of crap! I’ve been there. Where it made me have to learn myself. Funny thing is, I found the Orthodox Church and what I learned coincided with what the church teaches. Now the church has the truths, if a priest doesn’t teach the truth and rightly divide the truth, then being Orthodox means nothing.
But just like Santa Claus, he is Saint Nicholas of Myra, but his name changed as his reputation spread amongst the nations. Santa Claus a Spanish rendering! Which you and others can find this on the web or in the church.
Where I became Orthodox, I found there’s more to learn.
Where Mary and others that make it to heaven can intercede on our behalf. Just like here on earth, someone has an issue with you, another can talk for you or others, smoothing things out, it’s interceding.
Again if these things ain’t taught, then being Orthodox means little. But a high liturgical church, where it’s primarily a worship service. Where singing or chanting prayers. We burn incense as was in the time of Jesus and before. Then like one hymn we sing, of Jesus where by his death he trampled down death. Otherwords Adam as any of us would messed up and brought death into the world which seemed to affect the whole world possibly as all of life makes these cycles of birth, reproduction and death with the continuity of life keeping the cycle going. But Jesus being without sin, death had no grip or hold on him. Where Jesus took control of these matters.
But to be complete, oh you’re saved by believing in Jesus, as acknowledging Jesus presence. As a priest summarized it better it’s properly be more accurate to live in Christ. Which if one really believe, so they would. John 3:16 is nullified by others only acknowledging him by the verse in James where it reads, you believe in One G-d, you do good, even the devils believe and tremble!
Which when our knowledge of English and definitions with several meanings and many assuming their reference of a definition corrupts comprehension! I know! I’ve done it where I’ve had to back up and correct myself. Not being hardheaded and stubborn desiring to be an authority because I know more than the vast majority as so many pastors do. I’m a layman, but well informed, which there’s a good book on the psychology of preachers. Where learning about human nature helps paint a more complete picture of G-D’s’ love, which we are very aware of even though we think we do or try to act like we do. Some of these preachers and parrots that parrot them have a spiritual disease called prelest!
Which many churches go through the mechanics of faith, where going through the motions to create this image. But, we need to drop machismo and what as city and culture teaches and what some churches breed into their doctrine, where it’s so repulsive especially void of reason, compassion, mercy and flat out common sense and reason. So disgusting and repulsive, uhhh.
You know there were disciples of the apostles! Iraneus being one who Holy Tradition says he may have been one of the children gathering to Jesus in the gospels. Read about the church of Smyrna in Revelations, it was a church father named Polycarp.
Where the Apostles went out into the world establishing churches and putting chosen men in these positions if not by the Holy Spirit.
Many pastors don’t like to talk about these things! Keep everyone controlled and stupid, they keep all the business! Where they don’t want to lose business.
