Outstandingly good review by someone who has really done their research. I am in the process of buying my second Superb - it is by far and away the best value of any car currently on the UK market. If you want a top quality car with just about every extra you can think of, whilst keeping under the dreaded £40k VED limit, there is really no other car to consider. I have previously owned a Ford Model, Mercedes E-Class and VW Passat. Other than the badge, there was not a single feature of any of these other cars that Skoda did not do better. This is simply a magnificent car.

Just broke my foot, in hospital and they tell me 6-12 weeks before I can travel back home. Your reviews always cheer me up lads, I'll be driving automatics from now on. Superb review, never.knew there was such a long history at Skoda. Keep 'em coming thank you for the boost.
I had the pre facelift model in an estate body, 2.0 turbo diesel (190) with dsg. The trim was SEL executive. It was very nice and superbly economical. But the ride I thought could have been better. I changed it for a Seat Alhambra because I required even more boot area space for an electric buggy and Seat height. I was surprised to find the Seat suspension was better (for my liking at least). I would however highly recommend the Superb. Motorway cruising would see 60mpg even if I push it. Where as my Alhambra with a 140 turbo diesel with dsg only gets 45/50mpg. I hope they have changed the position of the electric boot opener which was sat by the gear selector and if not careful, the passenger would accidentally open the boot when stopped in traffic. Not good when you’re carrying a dog in the boot.
Also, it's strange that you got such good mpg out of yours. Mine is sitting around 42 much like your alalhambra. Very annoying and another reason why I want to get shut of the car.
Malthus G another grip I had on the Superb was forward visibility, I found the windscreen too narrow. Some traffic lights were hard to see when they were not duplicated across the road. And when on holiday with the car the screen would significantly block views of hills etc. The best windscreen ever in my opinion is on the Citroen Picasso / sporttourer.
@@Trevorfoggia yeah I find that too. I find it can make it harder to place on the road. I've never driven the Picasso but the hyundai i10 is the best visibility Ive experienced in a car.

I have just ordered a Skoda Superb 1.5tsi sel estate auto on motability to replace my Galaxy 2.0 150bhp Diesel Titanium X . This is my first petrol for 12 years. With the Galaxy I had fuel range of just over 400 miles per tank driving back and forwards between work and home about 10 miles a day. What petrol range should I expect from the Superb estate 1.5tsi auto?

Another brilliant review, thank you! You can make a strong argument that this is the best large family/executive car on the market. More interior space than anything below long wheel base luxury models like the A8L, loads of toys and interior quality that loses little to premium brands. All for a very affordable price. It's probably the most complete package of any car on sale if you include price in the equation. It's a much better proposition than the Passat and I would take one of these over an Audi A6 (I am thinking of replacing my A6 with the 2.0 L&K, after discounts it is a real bargain).

Hello there 👋 This depends on the trim. The suspension in the Sportline Plus trim can be quite stiff. The regular trim offers more ease and smooth cruising.
That lady at 6.30 is taking her life in her hands, she should be walking against the traffic so she can see what's coming towards her and wearing a hi viz vest.
A "superb" comprehensive review. Can music CD's be played in the DVD player? I have a huge CD collection and now find it irritating that new cars no longer accommodate people like me who have no interest in streamed music apps nor do I have time or inclination to tediously have to put my favourite music on a USB stick.
These days when car companies (like Mazda) include disc players most reviewers make sarcastic and sneering comments but i still find it useful. I have all of my music on memory cards (I went through the pain of ripping about a thousand CDs to MP3 many years ago and then years later did it all again to FLAC) but I still buy CDs and having a disc player can be very useful. I'd like a blu-ray player as I have a lot of audio blu-ray discs which put complete symphonic cycles onto a single disc with multichannel surround.
I like the review. Prefer it to the so called comedy reviews. But omg the adverts? 2, followed by a double advert, then 3 x more. This was only half way through, so I left it there, as I don't need 3 adverts for cat food, when I don't have a cat?

@@rivervalegroup I find the superb to be very noisy on all but the best Tarmac. Very poor really. An a4 is far quieter. I find the ride terrible too. I'm only on 18s too. Did you find the passat quieter?

I am compelled to write that I had bought SKoda Superb three years ago. This car met with frequent problems. Battery died in first year, AC conked off next year. One fine morning the the Automatic gear stopped working. There were software problems. During pandemic while the car was not used for three months the coolant drained out on its own. The AC conked off once again. Many times we paid for parts (very expensive) and for the attendant repairs for its labour costs. Even the car servicing team is embarrassed with our repairs history. How can one speak about quality of this car, costing tons of money in India. Long term ownership experience and the has been horrible, to say the least.
I really don't understand all the praise for the ride on this car. I have a preface life estate sel which has the same chassis and suspension as this and was prasied in the same way for its ride, and its ride is terrible. Its incredibly crashy and fidgety on typical broken British Tarmac. It's very underdamped which lead to very poor control over the wheels. I have driven a hatch like this one too and it was even worse. So brittle and crashy. I just don't understand the discrepancy between this and the car I have. I don't know if skoda are putting better dampers on these press cars but it would explain it. It's also incredibly noisy which you can hear on this video. Very clearly noisier than the passat you reviewed recently.

Yes, you can insert CD's into the DVD player located in the glove box to listen to your favourite music.

The interior noise when driving sounds really loud. Was it ?
true but it could be from various reasons such as big tyres,bad road (after 59:25 it changes).most likely i believe its the road.

Our reviews are filmed on rural roads in and around West Sussex - near to Horsham. So it's likely that this is noise caused by road condition.
