Hi, Thank you for documenting your experience and talking about the smell! :) I just started using it on 9/26. I prepared the powder 1st with oils to infuse and then I made a cream so I didn't have to deal with the residue. The smell from my Chebe is horrendous - smells like chewing tobacco and cigarette. I added other oils, butter, and essential oils. It now smells like dark coffee/dark burnt chocolate - makes me want coffee. It does stain my sheets so I sleep with a towel on the pillow and a bonnet on my head. I will follow you since you're the 1st person I found also starting at the same time as me. @@naturalhairkhronicles5790, I’m pretty sure that chebe is supposed to smell like that. I bought mine from Sahel Cosmetics. She is the one that started selling it first, and she says that it is supposed to smell that way. I did a lot of research and watched a lot of different people. Unless you have a premix or add something to it, raw chebe smells like roasted herbs/tobacco/cigars.

I wish I could post pictures bc other chebe videos the smell of sahel cosmetics was so strong it game me a headache. My cousin ordered and her batch smelled the same. We both received a refund bc we complained but that was after multiple emails. Chebe is suppose to have a nice earthy smell and it's not suppose to stink 😒. Another two different vendors told me that Ms sahel changed her chebe-powder recipe and they no longer purchased from her. If you go on Amazon there are alot of reviews complaining about the smell being unbearable. I purchased from sahel when her chebe first came out and I will say her formula changed. Im not trying to be confrontational just stating facts and I have receipts.Im quite aware she introduced Chebe-powder to the US 🇺🇸 that doesn't mean she isn't talking short cuts in making the product.
@@naturalhairkhronicles5790, I also heard about the change in her formula, but, for me, the smell isn’t unbearable, just unpleasant if you are not used to earthy smells. Her product works for me, so I am gonna continue to use it. My hair was in the middle of my back before I started using it, and it has retained length better than ever. I get hardly any shedding, so as long as it keeps working, I’m gonna keep using Sahel’s chebe. If I find a problem, I’ll switch.

There’s a lady on TH-cam that has been documented using it on her daughter. Remember to always do a patch test on the back of the head neck area by the nape of the hair to check for reactions. Unfortunately, I just started using it without testing with no issues at all. This is a wonderful product.
