Great stove , just a thought on a modification you could add , in the first section of flu near where it attaches to the stove body you could try and add a damper plate which would limit the heat being lost up the flu allowing the stove to get a bit hotter to cook/boil quicker
I've watched dozens of TH-cam channels use these mess kits but that's the first time I've seen that stove, your video explains why the tins are shaped that particular way 👍👍
Love it! My great grandfather brought his mess kit back from WW2, he lined it with felt and fabric and made it into a binocular case since he was an avid bird watcher. I still have it sitting on my shelf.
Innovation is the mother of all inventions and I love how the stove and mess kit marry so well together. Just what was needed during war time... or any time.
Perfect demonstraton of how the mess kits fit with the stove, 4 mess kit hooks on the side to keep something warm and the centre opening for actually cooking whatever you found !
I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for showing us of how the stove worked. Another history lesson well done. I'm really amazed of how they thought of everything. They could cook a full meal in one of them
Brilliant! Old bits of kit being restored to working order and being used for what they were intended for! And not sitting idle in a museum looking forlorn!. Fantastic!.
The simplicity amazes me. It just works and there’s nothing to it. Imagine that, no phone/device needed, no plug, no instructions, just keep the fire going and that little stove will work.
Neat how that German mess tin fits in that stove. I have the Swedish version of this which I use for camping ,although its not ww2 vintage. Thanks for sharing
Amazing! You have a great channel. You inspired me to clean and preserve my WW2 Italian Helmet. It was in awful shape but after a oxalic bath and some scrubbing it now looks great! Thank you for showing me the process to where I could restore and preserve that piece of history. Keep up with the great work!
Alright, how did you get those eggs out of the lid/pan, lol. I’ve forgotten to grease the pan for eggs a time or two myself, what a cleanup 🤦🏼♀️ That stove is a terrific design. Simple and it works. You did a fantastic job restoring it.
I wish you health, happiness, peace and wellbeing!

Thank you. This allows the viewers to have a taste of the life experiences of those soldiers so many years ago.
I loved the demonstration of the stove. I had recently watched the restoration video and it was great seeing the stove in use

There’s a company named KrautGear that used to manufacture and sell these. They’ve been out of stock for two years now…

Great job 👏
This is brilliant.
i absolutelly love ur vids. i wish to have the same skills you have to be able to repair my own collection
Out of curiosity, were the originals painted black? Or were they the same green/gray as the mess kits?
طباخ متنقل. فعلا الالمان عقلية مميزة
That stove would work excellent. In a cabin or in a small house.
@WWII Tube Restoration Why do you use sodium hydroxide on the mess kit and not oxalic acid? Is it healthier?
Because sodium hydroxide is much faster and more efictive cleans aluminum
Cool. Now I know why they’ve got that shape
Good video

Чем хороши немецкие котелки, так тем, что на каждые поллитра жидкости есть отметка в виде небольшой вмятинки на корпусе.
