    My late uncle loved to travel and hike; last year I 'stole' a proper old school map and guidebook ring file sort of thing of the GR11 from what used to be his room in my grandma's house. You've put great moving image to the topo maps. I'm definitely putting this route down on my to-do list.

    Wonderful, just astonishing at any breath and in any moment, it's a pity most people don't aknowledge what a beautiful planet we're living on but maybe that's better because most stay home or in their cities and thereby don't pollute or destroy the nature. Especially 7:52 and 9:04 were super inspiring to see it with my own eyes one day (and hopefully sooner that than late)

    Hi Chase, Inspiring stuff. I'm planning a similair trip next year. I hope you might be able to answer some questions. What made you decide walking west to East, the opposite direction seems more common? I'm personnally leaning towards taking an alcohol stove, but it all depends. Where were you able to find cannisters along the way? I still have to start researching the route in detail, where there any long stretches with limited restocking option or do you have a pointer for a resource on this topic? Thanks, looking forward to the next episode. Maybe you can do a more practical re-cap of your trip and answer some of my questions that way for the wider audience.

    • @ChaseMountains

      I wanted to feel as if I was walking home, also the guide book that I have describes the trail from West to east. Every 3 days or so there was a supermarket and gas was available I'm several of them. I'd really recommend the Cicerone guide book, you can get it on your phone!

    So you hiked from mountain hut to mountain hut ? If so i am guessing that you just carried food for a day or two ? Looks great fun and very relaxing. • @diarmaidryan9486
      @diarmaidryan9486 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah right, it isn't the Basque Autonomous Comunity, but Navarre, but it certainly is the Basque Country as a cultural region. Basque is spoken in that part of Navarre and the people identify with Basque culture. Also, to clarify the French side of the border is also Basque Country and Basque is spoken there. So Basque Country, Navarre, who cares? It's the same. Navarre was the sovereign state of the Basques. Just to clarify, although I'm sure you know but you can't stand admitting that there's a nation existing there for centuries regarless of the ruling powers of the time

      @@diarmaidryan9486 This is my friend. I know very well the history of the old kingdom of Navarra and the Basques.
