You deserve an award for this video. Nobel prize even. Thanks to this technique using honey, was able to tame two Quets with ease. I have played this game since 2019 and this is the first time I’ve tamed one. Thank you!
I didn't even watch the second method. I've always struggled to tame Quetzals since I started playing this game 7-8 years ago. Never knew I could do this. I just used the honey method to tame a 156 Tek Quetzal in the middle of the wasteland on Extinction. It just works.
I would also suggest taming any level rhynio. With a rhynio youll be able to tame quetz, arges, gigas, thylas and alot more without traps. Im genuinely surprised there isnt any videos about how the rhynio is mandatory for taming.
@@chinimon8259 You can easily use a low level rex or bronto to get a bug, if youre desperate even a trike lol if you haven't done impregnation it yet trust me it's alot easier than it looks. The hard part is the luck of getting a high level, you can shoot while riding rhynio so its pretty self explanatory. I've tamed 4 gigas using rhynio. Even quetz, tapejaras, rex, thylas, argy. Literally almost everything that's a knock out tame. Just hover over your wanted tame and start shooting tranqs. If you're an experienced player you can even go tame megalodons, anglers and mosas. I've only done mosa but I assume megs, anglers, and plesios are easy too. And yes I play on official servers

Seems like they might have made some changes since then. I had to change the back long doorways to walls, and even then, it took a few attempts to get the quetz stuck. If at first you don't succeed, then try walls in the back and try, try again....
Just did a schizo method where I make a flyer fly towards the quetzal while I’m grappled to it then tranq the quetzal. It’s currently in the water but somehow not drowning
Heh, wish I'd seen this video yesterday. Tamed a 125 quetz with the old school grapple/parachute method. Got him but it was an adventure to say the least. *side note: did you know a thyla can pounce you off a grapple? No? I didn't either. Do now tho lol
I cant put it in the pen.. And mine was 40 level+, not enough stam to fly and look for it when it flies away or when i habe to go down to replenish energy
Sorry didn't see this before. Hopefully you have figured it out but you place the honey in your quickslots and then use them. So for 123 &4 slots those are on the DPAD so probably easiet places to put the honey whilst out taming.
I was having the same problem. I figured out that you can fly right through the quetzal and it completely ignores walls, but if you stop with the quetzal positioned inside the box, then the quetzal can't fly itself out. So you carefully and slowly fly up into the quetzal, and when it's positioned inside the box hit the E key and then you can tranq it and it can't fly away. I couldn't use sprint to position - if I tried it would fly me past the quetzal I was trying to tame and it would come out the back.
It is an old issue with the game in the fact nothing is solid with construction, like walls, roof, and more. That is why just about anything can still attack your avatar as if the walls have little to no restrictions to penetration. It is also why you can fly through trees and such.

You can do the same with rare flowers as well. Get it to agro and trap it with behemoth gates like an argy.
Seems odd you would suggest this since he showed the rare flowers had no effect.

Why does the Method with the honey does not work ?
As he showed, it can take more than a few drops of honey to get its attention to fly down and eat it.
Noob ? How do you throw the items from the slots, what keys do you press?😅
Use the hotbar slots for the honey, and then throw out like anything else you want to abandon, throw away.
Flying trap doesn't seem to work anymore. They just clip through all the walls.
If you take the one sides walls off it works that way!

Yeah I just did it rn and it phased through the box. It’s still a good method but once the quetzal is knocked don’t move and it should be alright.

LOL, must be a new player and got the sticky bug/problem that often gets players ticked off with the game.
