What new coloring supplies and coloring books have you received over the last couple of months?
I am anxiously awaiting StarJoy GOLD Edition, (available to order any day now) and Black Widow Dragon 36, hope SOON. Besides 30 Days of Creativity, I also bought some glitter for holiday pictures, and bought for the 2nd time, Romantic Country Series. 1 and 2 from Amazon, #3 from Ebay
Omigosh, my stash is about as big as yours!!! Karlon Douglas: Color Some Cuteness Christmas Edition, and Fairyland Grayscale; Johanna Basford 30 Days of Creativity, and Miniature Enchanted Forest [It is wonderful and tiny]; half of Tatiana Bogema's Nice Little Town books. I get a lot of books by Selena Fenech, Molly Harrison, Ruth Sanderson, Thomas Kinkade.
A book I was especially pleased to get for a good price is Watercolor Fairy Art: How To Bring Your Fairy Realm Art To Life by Sara Burrier--I really love her work. Usually this book is either $35 used or unavailable since it is out of print, but I found it for $11 and change--new!!! Very happy Jean :-D
Also got some more Stickles, the Jarlink tall sharpener, an assortment of fiddly tools for drawing, some support materials on anatomy and proportion to support drawing people, because I can do that pretty well, but don't want to always need to use a photo. The imagination wants free reign.

My more recent purchases have been Derwent Inktense, Star Joy Originals, the most recent Hanna Karlzon books, Draw a Lovely You korean coloring book, Christine Karron Fairies and Fantasy 3 greyscale. 30 Days of Creativity. Tiny The Little Horrors coloring book, a color wheeel, Mungyo Aquarelle Oil pastess (regular and pearl). Nothing in the past month as I'm waiting for the Black Widow Dragon pencils and Star Joy Gold...also will need cases for those so watching my budget.

I received the 84 set of Caran Dache neocolor 2s and 9 coloring books for my 1 year anniversary and then for sweetest day I received the 320 set of ohuhu alcohol markers and a set of arteza metallic acrylic paint. I am very excited to use everything! I am so grateful for my wonderful boyfriend he really supports my hobby and I appreciate it very much.
Adult coloring will forever have a place in my heart. I started it many years ago after a car accident, severe burns and years in minimally conscious state. When I woke up I couldn’t do any Art because my muscles where so weak. My physical therapist one day brought an adult coloring book and a small set of Polychromos to me. I was able to color it in and slowly got better. Everyday I colored for hours and it really helped the lonely nights in the hospital and helped my arm muscles.
I became an illustrator eventually but still love coloring other peoples art to this day.
I so enjoy these videos. It brings me back to the feeling that everything will be ok.

I can’t get my Afmat to auto stop either. However it is the best sharpener. It’s unreal how lengthy the tip becomes where’s sharpened. NEVER BREAKS MY PRISMAS!!!!

Fun haul! I have been on a coloring book kick lately. Getting a variety of different types of books than I currently have.
How exciting! Sometimes I branch out to something that I think I wouldn't necessarily color. Then I start a page and find out I absolutely love the artist's work even though I thought otherwise. It's funny how our coloring style and choices can change over time.
I can't tell you how many times I rehomed books I got bored with, only to rebuy them a year later
I thought I was the only one using scrunchies to hold my markers!! LOL

I hang my head and must confess…I use the same colour band as the pens etc…ie red for red, pink for pink…🤦🏻♀️🤣🥰

Jane Maday books are all amazing too, such cute pictures and the paper is thick and smooth and just takes all pencils beautifully.

I just bought an RJ Hampton Frog coloring book, so adorable! He has several with different themes like Houses, animals in nature, I’m not at home so going from memory LOL. I’m currently in the process of organizing my coloring supplies, so it’s great, as I’ve rediscovered some things I haven’t used in a while and it feels like new stuff!

I don’t know about the older prismacolors but I’ve heard many you tube artists say they were so much better before the new recipe. Didn’t break easily too
The afmat manual sharpener with the rotating handle tore my koh i noor pencil horribly, so glad I only used it on 1 pencil. I won’t be using it again. I ordered the dahle 133, it arrives tomorrow.
I have the Koh in nor Magic pencils, I sharpen them in the Dahle 133 it takes all my pencils well, I put the Magic pencils in with the pointed side up, I have sharpened them all that way.
I love Kameliya’s coloring books. I have her Mandala ones. I didn’t know about the ones you showed. $4.99!!! I am gone shopping. Thank you! I also have the 240 Kalour Colored Pencil set on my want list. Maybe next month!! I’m older and have to budget.

Pamela try them bostitch quiet 6 …..pencils widths so 6 holes it auto stops but I love it it works soiooooo good it’s big but it’s worth it, I bought 2 of the dahlle 133 they both stopped working they were snapping shut not sharpening I thought after I returned the first one so I bought a second and same thing disappointing because it worked so well at first I did comment to you that I loved them , oh well I love the bostitch

The Art n Fly skin color markers style reminds me of Spectrum Noir. The Kameliya Angelkova coloring books look adorable!
The way you were describing the prisma lightfast makes me think of the prisma verithin pencils. I think they only come in in 24 set and they are harder than the regular prismas.
I have a 36 set now of the verithins, I’m literally swatching them typing this and watching this video heheheh got ‘‘em on sale!

That certainly was a massive haul Pamela, than you so much, wonderful books, I especially like the different seasons books at the start of them. I've not bought much colouring stuff recently as I've been concentrating on yarn, knitting socks for xmas gifts, but I did buy the postcard book of Rita Berman's new book. thanks again, 💖💖

I have the Rustic Autumn Scenes by Ava Brown, which is really nice and several of their other books, I have SO many books , I have the secret village ones too, life is so fun now. My past life was a mostly horror story, but now it is sooo good 😊
I have the Koh-i-Noor Magic pencils set. (I have most of Koh-i-Noor’s pencils. LOVE THEM!) These pencils are FUN to use. They are not difficult to sharpen, either. PS, Pamela; thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Pamela, I can never stop myself from a book or supply sale. I got 4 or 5 new watercolor books and derwent watercolor 72 and artist colored pencils. I now have my site set on 3 colorit books. Amazon had a sale this week $5 off 20 where I purchased this gorgeous $25 modern botanical watercolors-got $5 off And Target had buy 2 for price of 3

Hi Pamela :) those Lightfast Prismas only ever came in a 48 set. They stopped making them because they weren't really popular. I was trying to colllect all 48 colors. I was only able to get 16 so far but did get some single colors in bulk. If you want message me I have some up for sale on ebay. Some of the colors did get put into the 150 set after they were discontinued.
Recently I purchased a million sloths by Lulu Mayo. I also got Ivy and the inky butterfly by Johanna Basford. I also bought a large set of Sharpe markers. I am loving my purchases. Thank you for sharing your haul. I loved them all.

You got me curious about the Prisma light fast pencils. I slightly remember them but never bought them. I.looked them up found an review of them on Deviant Art. The article was dated 2007. They have been discontinued but I don't know how rare they are.
Yes I saw they have been discontinued. I am really just wondering what the purpose for them was. It's kind of like a very strange mystery because they weren't around for long. I am sure I didn't pay that much for them back when I bought them.
They were more expensive than the regular prismacolors when they came out. They were marketed to artists, my guess to compete with other products that people were buying. For a while
Prismacolor had quality control issues maybe they were trying to improve their image with professionals.
I think I have that last book by Selina, not sure where it is

I agree with you I usually like my color pencils to blend on their own as well. However, sometimes I need a little help, and I use the full blender, but it’s rare.

What did I not buy this month! My most recent books are from Kameliya Angelkova about 30 seconds ago, thanks a lot Pamela!🤣 I bought way too many books this month, not kidding, at least 30 if not more. I also bought spectrum noir Glitter Markers in Clear and Metallics. I bought Spectrum Noir markers, Faber Castell Pitt pens ( 3 different packages of different colors), Pan Pastels( pearlescent and open stock). I also bought way to many open stock Neocolor 2. In other words way too much! I’m obsessed with coloring supplies and books. This month was unusual for me, I usually don’t spend that much money stuff. I am a fairly knew colorist so I really only had pencils, none of that other stuff. I really love doing mixed media. It’s so much fater then doing pencil backgrounds. Great video! 👍👏😘💝💖🇨🇦
I ordered four more today of the Kameliya Angelkova books, I already have all the Seasons plus the romantic, and about five others, the ocean I had to have all the miniatures, I’m not over fond of mandalas.
I bought that brand of pencil case do the 2 middle pages come out with Velcro ? Mine do , which is what I was looking for and the only other ones I researched and I have one derwent carryall but they’re 42$ and the more inserts because it’s inside has binder clips, inserts are 15$ for 2 , rather peens money on art supplies lol

You can never have too many coloring books. I Daydream is one of my favorites. I haven't gotten to color in it yet. I had it for a while after finally deciding to buy it, but was waiting to do this video. I can't wait to color a page in it.
I like Julia spiris artwork but what really pi$$ed me off was when she released her first book and it was on great paper and once she saw it was selling she reproduced it with crappy createspace paper. I just thought it was kind of a sneaky thing to do, especially when she charged the same for the createspace one and the artist edition one. It just stunk of greed. Why not keep the same great paper and charge a bit more, I don't get it. So after that it just put me off her books!!

Just an FYI regarding Rachel Mintz.These large books ARE available digitally. HOWEVER, there was a glitch when I attempted to purchase. Her site uses a service to process credit card payments, only problem is, they accept every card EXCEPT Mastercard and Visa. ALSO, when coloring in Colorit Roaring 20s, remember it is 20s, didn't know there were tvs that far back, BUT if you see one, remember black & white, NOT color
Good catch, the B&W tvs then--they would have been huge like a jukebox almost. Also, dresses tended to be in pastels, or black and white, sometimes with red as an accent. Necklaces were long beads, and women who smoked (it was new for them to do that) used a long filter. :-D Bobbed hair on girls had just come in--jazz babies.
That's crazy. Mastercard and Visa are the most popular cards and are usually accepted when others arent. They are missing out on alot by not accepting them. I know I wont be able to purchase from there as that's the only cards I have. Thanks so much for giving the heads up!
Ok so I have a set of the 48 prismacolor Light fast pencils. I think now they are rare because they have been discontinued. But -fun fact those of you that have the 150 prismacolor premier set - when the came out with the 150 set - the 18 "new" colors in there were colors they brought back from previous discontinued sets - 3 deco colors, 3 neon colors and the other 12 were colors from the Lightfast set. Also I remember going to Michael's back in the day and seeing prismacolor Lightfast sets on the shelf. I think these pencils existed for the colored pencil artists that wanted to display their art without the color fading for a while.
Also the light fast pencils color about the same as the prismacolors except cobalt blue seems kinda scratchy lol

Pamela please do yourself a favor and buy or reach out to try from the company , BOSTITCH QUIET 6 electric sharpener, it’s amazing it sharpens even my prismacolors no breakages ever in 3 years , 6 size holes and stops when your lead is the perfect beautiful point, seriously u need to try it , it’s a giant but its a workhorse and has been awesome for 3 years and still going sttong
I need to stop buying books lol got two new ones Johanna Basford 30 days and the 50 Autumn miniatures By Kameliya Angelkova and now after watching this haul I want more of her books. I have been colouring a lot more of lately and the pictures in Kameliya Angelkova books are perfect for me to practice on because it is smaller picture but still takes me a couple of days to them done.

You can order from the Etsy store. And you were just print the pages out as you want to color them. I don’t ever print out an entire book at one time.

Got museum aquarelle, brutfuner sq 120 and love them poly chromos whole set btw do u know if the land scape and marine have different colors than the full box set, whole set caran d’ache neocolor 2 , brush and pen powders and texture fixative didn’t get spray fixative of course knuckle head , lol mint mare watercolor markers awesome btw, Marshall’s tomboy Dual pens I’m the pastel set , pastel set of 50 by Indra coming in tomorrow , khadi paper from India, plus, a bunch of coloring books from Ollie’s and a few off amazon including midnight woods I think it’s called, a used lot of luminance 27/48$ off Mercarii a book journal from Nepal from the Kathmandu vallwy company 92 pages. But 194 both side , pastel ground so I can make my own sanded paper. , m graham primary colors and turquoise with a free blue gouache, 3 full sheets 309lb watercolor 109% paper, and the list goes on this is over 6 months , also albrexht durer whole set , inktense full sets pencils and blocks and Christmas presents when there was sales on Stonehenge full sheets I bought 24 sheets lol oh and 50 sheets 100% cotton wandering a 8.5x11.75 “ thought it was too thin but it held watercolors beautifully! I can go on , only mentioned because u asked not to make anyone feel bad about not being able to afford high end supplies

I have most of them except the mandalas as I don’t like those so much, the paper is smooth a bit thicker than Amazon paper it takes all my pencils very well. I think you will be happy with whichever books you get, I ordered four more yesterday. 🥰 enjoy, and have fun with your colouring 🥰🥰
The paper in the miniature books are the Amazon paper that you'll find in books like Jade Summer, Deborah Muller, Hannah Lynn, etc. Do you have any of those books to compare it to? I like using my Prismacolors in the Amazon printed books.

I don’t use the word “Scratch” paper I never heard that term. I’ve only heard “Scrap” paper. I ordered the Derwent Inktense by your suggestion but I didn’t like them. I prefer water color paint sets. So I’m waiting for a refund. They were quite pricey so I didn’t want to keep them. Great haul 🌸
