I think they didn't. I've watched the full episode. At first they're thinking to end the stage with sth strong. Eric said maybe a cheek kiss, but Solar said that's too weak (Eric in great shock XD Asking what Solar what to do if cheek kiss is too weak XD). Before going to the stage, there is a scene which Solar (if I didn't remember wrong) said that they haven't decided the ending yet but they have to go now. She said that then she'll just follow her heart do what she want to do at the end. I guess Solar has the idea at the beginning but she didn't tell Eric to surprise Eric. I think all they have planned are up to the head-touching, and Solar made the last move by herself.

I think so many people loved them because they were the slowest burn so every cute/sweet interaction was more exciting to watch, and you can see how they get closer through their skinship and mental openness to each other. It would be nice if on like 10th year anniversary of wgm or any anniversary, wgm will have a spin off for one whole year portraying couples being reunited.
