    Thanks to your videos , I quit drinking Mt Dew completely and dropped white bread and rice , all breakfast cereals including oatmeal , and all HFCS products - I dropped 25 pounds in less than four months doing this one thing !! I didn't go keto diet , but I am literally AMAZED at the weight I dropped by just CUTTING HFCS - THANK YOU dr. Berg !!!

    Food companies realize that people are trying to avoid HFCS so they went to the FDA and asked if they could change the name of HFCS to just Corn Syrup so that way people have no idea what they are ingesting. Of course the FDA said yes that's fine do what ever you want. I'm sure they paid them a huge amount of money to do it. So if the label says Corn Syrup it's probably HFCS.

    I have obsessively read nutrition labels for years, intentionally staying away from soy and high fructose corn syrup, and my sons know where the label is and what to look for (real food) and what to avoid. I read, years ago, that a percentage of HFCS contains traces of mercury (not to mention it's from GMO corn). My husband, on the other hand, ... unfortunately he drinks HFCS-laden drinks virtually every single day. :(

I went back to lard, butter (real butter not marginrines), bacon fat/grease, virgin olive oil and virgin avocado oil. Foods now taste better sit on your stomach better and coupled with reducing starch carbs from my diet I have had my psoriasis go away. My stomach is reducing in size. I have lost 13 lbs, mostly from my gut area. My Leaky Gut is going away too. And since sugar is a nono I'm sure my liver is saying Thank you as well as my skin and gut. I also take 2 tbl spoon of acv with a teaspoon of lemon juice 1st thing in the morning and about an hour before bed time. My digestion has gotten better as well as my Bms. And it's been watching Dr. Berg and a couple other holistic Drs on utube that has helped the most. I'm 68 yrs old and I was getting tired of the itching on my sides and shins every winter from what I found to be psoriasis caused by "leaky gut" and a possible fatty liver. Watching this man's vids has been a life changer for me.

  • @p9948
    @p9948 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dr. Berg, I listened twice to this video and once for the chicken video. My takeaways: People have left beef and embraced chicken for the cost difference. Most of us mortals have to worry about price, at $1 a pound for chicken and $5 a pound for beef, one can feed their family for 20 cents on the dollar. Next, you discuss the seed oils vs. the non-seed oils. A simple way to inform the listener is to simply say do not buy oils in clear plastic. That also will address the oxidation issue as the dark bottled oils are in dark bottles for a reason. Next, the topic of extra virgin olive oil is bogus too because the driver for its use is the Omega 3. Well, its inherent Omega 3 converts to the good EPA at less than 1% transfer. The primary component in extra virgin olive oil is Omega 9, and I do not know much benefit from this fat. Lastly, we have switched to European bacon and cheese for two reasons as our primary protein and fat sources because Europe does not permit roundup chemical types. In that matter, even dentists in Europe do not promote the mainstay filling used in America. I only use resins. Bottom Line: Your videos are helpful and perhaps more content would even be better.

For people that don’t know about nutrition- I thought weight watchers was the way to go. I did it for 5 years. I lost weight, but I always had cravings. I would save points just to have a snickers or a coke and still lose weight. I’ve had so many people tell me- I could never do keto, it’s not Sustainable for life. If anyone is on the fence. The cravings go away. I can look at so many things that I use to love and be okay without it. Once in the Being of keto I tried to eat homemade egg rolls. It made me so sick, I was throwing up at 2am. I’ve never had a urge to do that again. Keto has changed my (and my husbands) life.

    HFCS gave me severe short term memory failure and lasting short term memory problems that i still havent fully recovered from. i have trouble learning new information, nothing ever sticks, and i lost one of my jobs due to the inability to learn. i felt so inferior and stupid. it got so bad that i forgot how to put on my shoes. once i pinned it down i started consuming food with cane sugar and the problem was gradually resolved. dont let anyone make you feel shame for reading ingredients on labels, being called a "health nut" is not being a health nut, but significantly saving your future and quality of life. ingredients like this can ruin your life.

    In the 1970s, the advise we got was that sucrose had a double bond, and didn't break down as well, but fructose was better. That must have been the initial familiarization stage. Tell us the difference between high fructose corn syrup, and regular corn syrup... Or not, I haven't used corn syrup since the '70s.

    ETH Zurich along with the University Children’s Hospital Zurich conducted the study.
    They fed mice ketogenic diets and high-fat diets and then tested their metabolisms and sugar responses.
    They found that keto diets don’t allow the body to properly use insulin, so blood sugar isn’t properly controlled. That leads to insulin resistance, which can raise the risk for type 2 diabetes.

      @@Fjerid depression, anxiety, muscle and joint pain and swelling, skin issues like pimples and dry skin especially in the winter time, my vision seems to improve on carnivore, and what I'm doing straight carnivore a little woman loves it because love making can go an hour or two no problem. I'm not saying that actual penetration for an hour or two but the fact that a guy my age can stay interested for an hour or two at a time it's pretty amazing. Sadly I become a mere mortal when I'm eating vegetables and fruits and Grains and all of those problems return. Certainly not as bad on ketogenic. It breaks my heart because I grew up on a produce Farm and also lived in the Caribbean when I was a kid when we had 11 different fruits. I've been gardening pretty intensely since leaving the farm at age 18. Aquaponics, Hydroponics, aeroponics, Dutch bucket systems, you name it, I've done it when it comes to Growing produce.

    • @pwilki8631
      @pwilki8631 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Fjerid yeah, I'm in alternative medicine myself and have been for the last 10 years and one thing I've learned about obese people in diabetics is oh, and I have this problem myself, they are obese and pre-diabetic or diabetic because of their addiction to sugar. I have never had a diabetic that I treated who was still on his metformin or insulin 21 days after switching to the ketogenic diet. If he switches to the carnivore diet he will be off both those medications within 7 days. The problem is people are addicted to sugar as much as as if it were cocaine. Actually I quit all drugs when I was 21 and it was easy compared to Sugar that I still battle every day. See if you can get her to do ketogenic diet. That's a good place to start. Carnivores much better for her issues but that's a real hard diet to do for sugar fiends like myself.
      As far as fruit goes, that breaks my heart too because when I lived in Panama in Jamaica we had a yard in Panama that was an acre and a half and it had 11 different kinds of fruits on it. And tropical fruits are a hundred times better than anything you can get in the grocery store in the United States. The problem is that the only organ that can metabolize fructose is the liver. So I have really healthy clients who are thin and exercise a lot but they have fatty liver disease and they can't figure out why. The reason is is they start every morning with a fruit smoothie which is the equivalent of several pieces of fruit and then they eat fruit all day long. Most sugars, most of the major organ systems in your body can metabolize but fructose can only be metabolized by the liver so if you take in more fructose than your liver can metabolize it's going to turn to fat and be stored on your liver.
      Believe me man, carnivore diet is not something I want to do. But as I've gotten older and after I get into alternative medicine about 10 years ago I've learned more and more that vegetables and fruits have all kinds of toxins in them. Lefton's, oxalates, goitrogens, plants don't want to be eating any more than animals do. Growing up on the farm spraying chemicals on the vegetables we grew I always noticed that some vegetables plants were left alone by the insects much more than others. For instance, potatoes, which are part of the deadly nightshade family are only attacked by the Colorado potato beetle. I was always amazed by that. plants have a pretty good defense mechanism but that seems to almost always be one insect that can fight through them. I need vegetables and fruits if you eat uncooked or at the wrong time will literally kill you on the spot. and Panama we had a cashew tree and my dad and mom forbade me from going anywhere near it like it was in the Garden of Eden and God himself had forbidden it LOL cashews can kill you dead just from handling them at the wrong time. in the last 10 years I have discovered that a major cause of gout is nuts of all kinds. anyway, sorry for the diatribe but you asked LOL bad spelling and grammar too, but I'm at work just doing voice texting. No time to go back and fix it all LOL

We have occasional hamburger when its on sale and occasionally really cheap cuts of beef on sale. The rest of the time we eat chicken, turkey, pork because the prices are much lower. 99c a pound vrs. $7 to $15 dollars a pound is quite a difference.

It’s upsetting because my blood pressure is really high and MDs scared me to taking their drugs, which seemed to have created more health issues for me. I don’t know what else to do to heal these conditions. It all started ever since I’ve had chronic gastritis, ulcers, and gallstones after taking NSAIDS. Ok. Beets. Honest question. Glyphosate is sprayed to kill weeds. If farmers sprayed glyphosate on beets, it would kill the crop. Is it like wheat where they spray it at the end of growing season to kill it right before harvesting? Also, beets products come from the roots only, right? Is it picking up from the soil? If so, why do not beets die from glyphosate? Are beets gmo'd to be invulnerable to roundup, or I thought roundup will kill any plant?
