Here is my WayV The Highest album review!! I adore this mini album, and it's a Japanese debut album no less(!!) WayV absolutely killed it like they always do. Please let me know down in the comments your thoughts about the album, thoughts on any of my interpretations, or anything else you would like for me to know!

This album is so good! My favourite song is bandage, image and deep ocean.
By the way, sometimes when they show all the members singing together in a lyrics video, it’s not always all of them singing-it’s usually one of them leading, with the others doing background vocals. And honestly, these lyrics videos aren’t always accurate, not in terms of the lyrics but the line distribution. But this one is still pretty decent and mostly accurate. Of course, it’s hard for new fans to recognize their voices, so they might not know who’s really singing if the video isn’t accurate. But for old fans like us, now we can easily tell who’s singing, even their hidden Vocals, & harmonization as well😅, but you're pretty good at recognising their voices as well 🙌

Sometimes it’s not all of them singing together-it’s just one person, but because of the layering, it sounds like everyone’s singing. It’s mostly Ten and Hendery though. This lyrics video is still pretty decent, not gonna lie. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely better than most color-coded lyrics videos.
And 30:58 this part gave me goosebumps when I heard it live. It sounds so good!

My playlists never get bland or repetitive ever since i stanned this group, wayv specifically are allergic to bad music 😭
Also i relate to you as a moon lover girlie i'm a little obsessed with how conceptually ingrained the moon imagery is into their lore and music 💞
Seeing kun images stage fancams had me absolutely losing my marbles 😾 i hope we get more chances to see these songs performed in the future!!

Oh man so Inlove with this album their Japan debut I'm so so proud of them🥰 it's a no skip for me but my top 3 are images, what a good a time, and bandage. Ten is my ult and Kun, win-win, xiaojun, hendery, yangyang are my wreckers. I love wayv and I'm so happy for them now that they are doing their first concert🫶🥰 thank you for your reaction to wayv's first japanese mini album The highest 🥰and I enjoyed warching it for sure. My first album of them is on my youth then i have Ten's S010 mini album too😊

I actually am in contact with someone who's willing to let me buy 7 of WayVs' older albums off them for a decent price!! I'll share them when I have them secured!! I got Give Me That because that was the only one the store I went to had in stock, but I am, of course, interested in all of their albums. 🤠

@@herballyTae ​Sweet. And btw about your question. Yes, Diana is the Roman version of Artemis the Greek goddess of the hunt but who is also oftentimes associated with the moon. Although technically Selene is the original moon goddess but since she was a Titan along with his brother Helios (sun god), Artemis/Diana, along with her twin brother Apollo, came to be also known as the sun and moon god/ess after the Olympians took over the Greek pantheon and the original gods (Titans) became obscure.

IMAGES is indeed a love song. WayV is the smooth and subtler subunit (they could be quite overt when they want to sometimes) and they are fond of the night and moon references. This is actually the first jazzy song they did but it's interesting how it sounded the most "WayV" in the album.
You're totally right that they're good in making a sound theirs. And yes it's my number one in the album too.😍🤌 Cuz aside from being a very good song the lyrics for me is one of their best yet. It's very romantic but in a mature kind of way. Basically this song compares the woman that they love to the moon which in classic literature is like the perfect metaphor for a beautiful woman - radiant, beautiful, mysterious, glorious but also a little shy.🌜✨ Also the phases of the moon is very similar to the phases of a woman's cycle and a woman's ever-changing moods.🌑🌘🌗🌖🌕
I love how this song is a reminder that a great guy understands a woman and how she can have some hesitations sometimes. Like a true gentleman won't rush a women and will wait until she is ready to give him her everything the way the moon will eventually show its fullness. This song is so tender and so poetic..🥹❤️
And that "Oh my my Diana, silently, make me crazy" line is not only pretty but also accurate. Cuz yes, it's a fact that mentally unstable people do get a little crazier during full moon. And yes, that's how an attractive woman is supposed to be - a little mysterious - for seduction to work..😅😉

I had fun watching your reaction! The whole mini album is great, but Deep Ocean and Images are probably my favorites! The vibes are right up my alley. I'm also Kun biased and I loved Kun's voice in Deep Ocean especially (and also that entry into Images). I really enjoy it when the vocalists of a group each have a distinct vocal tone, which is definitely the case for WayV: Ten has a very concentrated? piercing in a good way? voice, Xiaojun's vocals are clear, strong and light (reminds me of a crystal), and Kun's voice is so soft, cozy, and sweet. I also love Yangyang's raspiness! And Hendery's staccato rap delivery and gentle vocals when singing. Winwin DOESN'T GET ENOUGH LINES and I've missed him in the past two albums, but I looooove his deeper and super round/resonant voice.
also, unrelated but if you're interested in band sound and songs that are reminiscent of anime openings (as suggested by your reaction to Bandage), I recommend checking out Montage_ by the kband ONEWE!
