Whenever I see those old structures I try to imagine the hard work that went into providing for their families back then. I used to hear the stories from my dad about his parents and his grandparents and how they lived way back when. Sadly I didn’t appreciate those stories in my youth like I do now. I’d love to be able to just sit and listen to my relatives (who have long since passed) talk about their lives. Thanks for sharing some history. This is a must see and I love that waterfall at the end.
We really love the history here! Always have found it really interesting like you said how people live to back then and how hard life was for them! I hear you I would love to sit down with my family members who I never met that I heard my parents talk about and grandparents would love to hear their story! Appreciate you watching as always 🙂
I haven't caught up in a while and need to watch a ways back. Enjoyed all the history. I appreciate how y'all always take the time to research and share the story as you wander. I am lazy and tend to just pick a point and go see what's there, wishing I knew the backstory as I explore it.
Well appreciate you stopping by and checking out the video and commenting 🙂 We've actually always done that kind of research even before we started our channel 🤣 just a couple of nerds lol We just enjoy knowing what we're looking at and trying to put the pieces together and thinking about the people stories while we're there. Hope you have a great weekend!
Have y'all been to the Foxfire Museum in Mountain City, GA? They have a bunch of old cabins and barns from all over Appalachia that have been relocated and preserved. If you liked making this video as much as we like watching it, I bet you'd get a kick out of visiting.
I've never even heard of it I'll have to check it out now that sounds extremely interesting! We love stuff like this with lots of history 😁 I'm going to look it up and hopefully we can put it on the list and get to it soon! Thank you! Appreciate you watching as well 🙂
Thanks so much for the tour their, now I've been there quite a bit, that would be at the end of the ROARING FORK TRAIL I do believe but hey.....I never get tired of any of these places yaw go, or that ive already been too...I love it up there, and could watch it or go their all the time....I have not made no comments lately but im always watching you guys everytime i get a notification or sometimes i will just go back and watch a waterfall yaw have been to or Mt.Mitchell ......or whatever.....Thanks yaw for sharing these beautiful places with me....... SERIOUSLY....THANK SO MUCH ...Jimmie , Augusta, GA....HOME OF THE MASTER'S....JAMES BROWN....STEVE MORSE.....and.....me....
We never get tired of going there either! We really appreciate you watching and commenting! Commenting and fully watching definitely really helps the channel more than anything ❤️ James Brown! Love the sign off 😅
We actually mentioned that one in the video we took twin River trail to get there. If you notice back there as well there's bushes that grow in perfect lines or they used to plant them and they still grow today!
We are in our way to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We are on Nick and Rachel Territory. I won’t be a Bob and hopefully we don’t see a Bear. Old structures always look so pretty. Weird to see you in a Car. Feels like you guys just walk everywhere 😂. This driving tour may end up on our list. Can’t imagine living in that area.
That's awesome! How long of the drive for you guys? Bob's are bad 🤣 You'll be excited to see the bear they're cool! More than likely you'll see one there everywhere there lol How long y'all going to be in Gatlinburg and pigeon forge?
This was a nice departure from your usual content and honestly, quite refreshing. You two work so well together you should maybe try some other things to present. One thing I had thought of, if you are interested of course. You two both have compassionate voices and since you write and publish children's books, maybe you two should try a children's vid where you both read the book to the children watching. Great way to build an audience for the books and advertise them at the same time. Just a thought...
That's not a bad idea and I appreciate you looking out for us like that! Always Appreciate the suggestions. On TH-cam they make us check several boxes before uploading and one of them is this content "made for children"?. If it is they demonetize the video. TH-cam has made it really hard to make a children's channel now. So we select not made for children on all of our videos. We really enjoy making videos like this on the channel as well so you'll probably see more of them in the future!
Hope you enjoyed the video Thank you for all your support ❤ Like Goal 👍 300

Just returned from trip to Bryson City and Smoky Mountains. It’s so nice in the mountains. Views are incredible when not foggy.
Hey glad you had a great trip! I really enjoy the foggy days too by my favorite times to film Love the color it puts on everything 😁
Loved all these old structures when we were in the Smokies! So neat. 🎉
That's one of the best parts seeing all the history around! You can find a lot of these structures and cemeteries and things just on random trails!
Good day exploring all those old houses. Interesting looking waterfall at the end.
Nice peaceful day 😊 that waterfall does look really unique with all the cutouts!

James Brown! Love the sign off 😅
We like to hike back to the river by the Ogle farm. There's an old water mill back there.
We actually mentioned that one in the video we took twin River trail to get there. If you notice back there as well there's bushes that grow in perfect lines or they used to plant them and they still grow today!
Yes, I just didn't' wait through the whole video to comment. I saw you mention it later. I will look for the bushes next time.

@@NickandRachel It is 9 hours. We’ll be here till Thursday. We are excited.
9 hours isn't too bad just wait till you pull up you'll love it!
Very nice
❤️
If I am not mistaken, the cabin at 5:35 was bout from a single tree.
I wouldn't doubt it those trees were huge! Would have loved to have seen the entire Smoky mountains National Park before it was logged!

Thumbnail looks like Resident Evil 4.
Sadly we didn't see any mutated zombies 🤣
