The scene of bellatrix saying "I'll do it" and cid turning around slowly to reveal his widest grin is so incredibly perfectly done with the ost in the background, I can't even
The fact that audience sees Cid's face is just an animation quirk. In the manga and novel illustrations he always wears a mask or his face is obscured by unnatural darkness. Point being, no matter how visible his face seemingly ever is to everyone while he's Shadow, nobody will recognize him
actually what Cid did to Iris was shown twice earlier in the show, the 1st time when he was younger against his sister, and against Quinton when he was getting beaten up if you look back again, his sister touched her neck after knocking cid into the river, which is why she says she always learns from cid even tho he always loses it's just Cid having playful thoughts on how he would attack if he wanted to be serious

@@aidan6620 There's a meme about saying the title of the movie like "It was you? You were Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith all along?" So by calling him the wrong name its a little bit of the joke and that she got his name wrong for the scene
Its funny how little things mean so much in this story. Like how Princess Orianna took up the sword because she was amazed by Stylish' skills despite sword arts being looked down upon in her kingdom.
Its also very fitting because her Kingdom heavily appreciates the arts. As the princess of Orianna, it’s only natural she be captivated by Cid’s overly refined and beautiful swordplay.
Let me just add that when people see Cid as Shadow they saw something like ghost rider but black and violet flames. Us seeing shadow as CId face is for readers and audience only.
Re sunglasses, I like how Cid via Gamma and her Mitsugoshi store was gradually and semi-subtly changing the world to resemble modern Japan. Which means the OP, which seemed so out of place (the girls in a modern setting) may gradually "come true."
Honestly here atleast in anime while he does play it up a bit because its whole thing. he does comes as overly harsh to Iris comapred to the rest of the characters. That aside i think Rosas writing is just peak when it comes to this series
Nope , Shadow just went extra on Iris , he took her more seriously because he thought she could take it , Annerose was like playing with a newborn kitty while Iris was playing with a pitbull.

Genuinely all of Beatrix's lines are amazing.
They removed it for "aesthetic purposes" in the anime adaptation but the Shadow Garden members all operate while wearing masquerade masks.
I think the anime takes more elements from the Light Novel, in which their faces are hidden using... Shadow? Something like that.
In the light novel they don't use the masks.

To add to that, the other members of Shadow Garden also wear masks. That's why Iris doesn't recognize that Alpha looks like Beatrix, for example.
I don't get how people need that explained. Just look at his wanted posters, no one ever sees his face fully.

Against Goldy, not Quinton.
@@BalrogQuote When he let Quinton beat him up in the alley. But yes Goldy saw him self get sliced in half too.
Quinton was jut too shit to notice.
@@BalrogQuote quinton actually; this is on the streets, when they 1st meet along with annerose

The next episode is probably my favorite of the season, you guys are going to love it lol.
Next week's episode is going to be INTENSE
Mundane Man really be hitting Iris with the Aizen technique of fighting
Let me just add that when people see Cid as Shadow they saw something like ghost rider but black and violet flames.

This just had to be the best arc!! I love it so much! The anime is so good!
The real thing is, they use masks to cover their faces, and now anime has decided on some kind of assassin's hood to hide the face.
Anyone who doesn't find this anime HILARIOUS, your living a sad life.

It seems Annerose was stronger than the Princess Irish. Annerose didn't feel this kind of fear while facing Mundane Man.
I doubt it. I think Iris' fear just stems from just how much her character is built on her strength and how fearful she was of losing it
Nope , Shadow just went extra on Iris , he took her more seriously because he thought she could take it , Annerose was like playing with a newborn kitty while Iris was playing with a pitbull.
Great reaction!
Next episode for me,Iris are all big talk and at fault entirely...and yet keep blaming Cid
The hood is ALWAYS obscuring his face. The anime is just dumb.
