Wow!!! I have seen lots of videos on transitions in OBS but I have to say that this is about the best video I have seen about creating transitions using native OBS functions. This is so cool. Some parts seem complex but I will take out time to learn these as once mastered, the possibilities are endless. Well done Activater for this brilliant video
Had to comment and thanks for the explanation about using the move plug-in for transitioning between scenes. A lot of videos explain moving things around in a scene, but yours is the first I've found about between scenes. so, thank you....
Very informative, fast paced, and felt like every minute was worth it. 😂 Great video. Thanks! (edit: Moving cam for Twitch, stationary for these videos. Much less jarring and easier to focus without the jumpy cuts to me.)
There have been some pretty impressive updates to move since this video. New options and additional controls that I'm not quite understanding. Thankfully, most of your lessons here still hold up. However, do you think you could do an updated version of this video sort teaching us what all the new options are and how they help?
@@Activater maybe need to try and get more click baity and creative with the titles to get more random clicks. I've been following your content for over a year so when something new drops I tend to give it a view even if it's not something I'm looking for specifically, but I don't think most people are going to know what they're clicking on with "Move Transitions/Sources Smoothly" Hell I didn't even know what I was getting into but I knew I'd get something out of it regardless
Fantastic explanation bro... Keep it up. But I need to see cam during recording as a floating cam. So I can change the cam position if performing something behind the cam. I really need the help...
Thanks so much, this is a game changer! I'll be playing with these settings aaalll day! And also, you miss things only when you don't have them anymore, so now i'm missing the moving camera! Peace and Happy Streaming! |m|_
There's 2 places to look at the settings/options. One is in the actual scene filters and the other is the transition options on the bottom right of OBS. Are the things you're missing located in one of those but not the other?
Very strange. I would test creating a profile inside of OBS and also creating a Scene profile. Do this after you make your transition and everything. Then export those just in case and test reopening obs. If the settings don't stick, import the saved profile. :)
I'm not sure what you need help with. Connecting? Settings of the card? I made an entire video on using OBS. As for capture cards, let me know what the thing you're trying to learn is.
Soooo the cinematic mode wasn't shown (or I'm insane and missed it). I'd love to get those black bars on top and bottom; how'd you use this to do that? Thanks!
I just added an image from the web. It was a .png image of a 2.35:1 aspect ratio black bars on a transparent background. I then animate the scale of the bars. :)
is there a possibility to transition between different aspect ratios? say I want to use my camera in 4:3 on a certain scene but transition it to 3:4 (portrait) when switching to my game scene?
@@Activater thanks! i figured it out, it works just fine when u crop the same nested scene on different scenes but there seems to be no possible way to combine this with a filter to add rounded corners. I tried every possible way i could imagine with no success
This was great. But having issues that Move Sources in STAND BY SCENE are not being saved when there are 2 move sources of different objects, i.e. only the top most source is being saved.
I've done exactly what you have said in the video and when I click play it show the motion but when I click the hotkeys it just doesn't work. Any idea why this would be?
hmm, it's tough to figure it out from hearing what you have going on. Are you having an item move from one place to another and then back, or just staying in place after the move?
@@Activater so I am trying to get it to move off the screen and then back on again. Just for the moments when there is a cinematic moment and I was to move my face
This is super helpful... thank you. How do I swap 2 sources where the one is layered over the other and you need them to switch between the two. lol even as Im trying to explain it I don't think imdoing it correctly :)
Hey Bill, animating like how I describe herr in this video is independent of studio mode. So in theory, yes. Studio mode just brings up a preview of what's to come. Animating will work within the preview monitor or even scenes you can't see. Meaning once you setup your "moves", they'll move when you use your hotkey's regardless if you can see the scene.
Yes, make the same hot-key in obs to make the move happen the same as your stream decks hot key. ( i think there's a simple hot key you can add there too)
@@Activater Ive been looking all over the place dude to try to get my webcam to move though, I installed the "mod" the move source but it still didnt work, do you know what I should do? I use streamelements! Sorry for the bother king

great vid acti, thanks! had no idea how to do this

hey nice video, but how do you add the cinematic transition in stream labs obs??
Streamlabs is pretty limited in terms of plugins like this unfortunately. You'd need OBS Studio to do this stuff.
Great tutorial, helped me a lot. Struggled for like 2 days implementing a move filter. Turns out I had the wrong source selected.

Absolutely. I dont know how to do this off the top of my head, but yes, I've seen it done.

Can this be done in "Studio Mode"? I can't seem to make it work. I really need the Preview/Program to pull it off.
It's shouldn't really matter. Im able to move my sources even when the scene isn't up so I can't imagine why it wouldn't work.

In the scene list or source list? Sorry, I haven't watched this vid in a HOT minute. The more detail you got, the better. :D

OBS.Live is another plugin. So yes! You can have tons of plugins!
I dont have the move source option?

Don't know if it is just for me, but your audio is off like 50 ms regarding to the video.
