My 13 Pro Max arrived 4 days ago, 21st in the afternoon, and the battery indicated 75%. I updated it to iOS 16, did a factory reset and started actually using the phone with a 70% charge. I charged it the next night (22nd) right before going to sleep and now I'm at 16%. So it's been 2 and a half days since I charged it. This thing is absolutely insane. I come from a Galaxy S22. There's just absolutely no comparison.
I was planning on actually getting a 14 Pro Max, but after seeing that the pill sits lower than the notch, I decided it wasn't for me.

Amazing video! This is a real review. No reading of the spec sheet which we all as consumers can do and every other TH-camr does. Just pure testing and comparisons. Perfect. Someone on twitter was ranting earlier about how all Tech Reviewers are the same, thats true for everyone except this channel. I got tired of watching different videos about the 14 Pro Max and hearing the same marketing I got from the Apple Event. I watched the event, I dont need an unboxing of the device with the same speech. I need what you guys and gal are doing which is actually testing the new features. Bravo and I cant wait for the future videos on the new iPhones.

@@charliewright1009it feels the same. I just got my wjfes 14 pro max, we both had 13 pro max together though Im usually one gen behind her. I kept the 13 for 2 year, but bought her 14 pm because it was only 600$ and in perfect condition. She has the 15 pm.
Only difference I feel is macro photos are better and the phone seems to unlock with face id very, very, VERY marginally faster. It seems to also “feel” a little faster most of the time while using it, but I “raced” them through app opening and web browsing and they are essentially the exact same speed. 70% of the time they are the same, the other 30% they take turns being a fraction of a second slower. Literally 14 pro max was never on my radar, it was the least upgraded phone ever. Literally 14 pro max basically = 13 pro max with dynamic island and slightly better macro photos. I only bought it cuz someone will buy my 13 pm for what I paid for it. I may then try to sell it and buy the 15 pro max because the usb-c and ray tracing and new AAA games coming out.
If they dont release the games (re, ac, etc) at least without ray tracing on 13 and 14 pro maxes thats bs. The gpu on 13 pro max is only 12% under 24 pro max and 30% under 15 pro max. It was initially 52% faster than the 12 pro max gpu on geekbench 5 metal test. So yeah
15 pm gpu only 20% faster than 14 pm
14 pm gpu only 12% faster than 13 pm gpu
13 pm gpu is up to 52% faster than 12 pm gpu
With ray tracing benchmarks, the 15 pm is almost 2x faster than 14 pm gpu. Quite far from the advertised 4x and ray tracing could be turned off… they just want to sell the 15 pro max if the new games are exclusive to them. Certainly 13 pm and especially 14 pm should get them…
Also cpu increase each year since 12 is basically summarized as 10% lol.’

4nm is the third iteration on 5nm process from TSMC so it is not a huge leap from what we got on A15. A16 should be on 3nm but Covid happen. I believe the gain we see on larger 14 Pro Max variant are due to how the phone can handle much higher freq while keeping the thermal output identical to its 13 Pro Max counterpart with its slightly better 4nm process. No IPC gain I can see here.

I’m going to watch the video now, but I agree that we need more in depth reviews. I would even say more niche focused reviews. I personally do professional car photography and working outside at 90+ weather for hours at a time makes the 2k nits brightness 🔅 screen sound cool, but next Monday I’ll be finding out if it suffers from the dimming that the last iPhone 📱 also did which made that screen just barely bright enough due to heating.
The new megapixels will help with some interesting shots that we just couldn’t do before due to the low 12 megapixel count of the older phones.

The IPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max are definitely not worth upgrading from especially camera wise. I have been unpleasantly surprised to see how overly warm some of the sample photos from the 14 Pro Max have been with too much saturation and over sharpening going on. Hopefully future software updates will sort this out. Video is stunning, as is that taken on the 13. Action mode is an aggressive but very useful software upgrade that will filter down to the 13 series hopefully. If Apple don't decide it would cost them money in IPhone 14 upgrade terms and not allow it to filter down to the 13 with the argument that only the chipset in the 14 Pro and Pro Max support it.

Good video mate , and the one million subs trophy is well deserved given the hard work you all put in.
I bought the 14 PM in space black 512 gb a couple,of days ago , I’m still having withdrawal symptoms from my old 12 pro max, I loved that phone , and I have to say , while you can notice some differences between the two , in daily life I’m finding them to be far far more minor than I thought they would be , even the faster refresh screen , i still in my use find my old phone more than acceptable.
I don’t have 5G on either of my phones , I think we have fairly decent 4g in Australia , at least in my neck of the woods,
Doing the speed test while laying in bed , I got about 470 download on my lowest of three tests and 490 ish on my best , surprisingly only around 27 ish upload , I remember getting about 35 upload on my old old Lg g5 many years ago.
The always on display is ok , still not as good as some android always on displays due to the amount of customisation and tinkering you can do on android imo , it is nice to have though.
I’m sure I’ll eventually warm to the 14 as time goes on , still room for some improvement is some areas , more zoom would have been nice , ah well .
    Cheers.
One funky little issue I’ve had from day one with both apple phones , is now and again when in landscape and you turn the phone back into portrait orientation, the phones will just refuse point blank to come out of landscape , and I have to resort to all manner of screen swiping and bouncing the phones back and forth until they decide to eventually loosen their grip , I dunno what’s going on there , on the same train of thought ,
if I have my iphone in the car holder in portrait and orient it in landscape to get at dash controls near the phone , it still drives me to distraction that apple phones refuse to turn the Home Screen to landscape like any android phone would ….. cmon apple you can do better than this😳.

@@shitmir Honestly, I'd hold onto my phone for another year or two if it weren't for the poor performance, battery life, and (the main reason I picked out the 256GB model on the Pro Max) my lack of storage. I had to wipe my phone a few months ago because it ran out of storage and got bricked, it almost happened again yesterday (got stuck in a "boot loop" of sorts, where the phone would crash whenever I tried to unlock it, forcing me to hard restart), but I was thankfully able to access my camera roll through Siri and delete a few videos that way, haha. Great comparison! Thanks for covering everything that nobody else gets into. Keep up the good work. The larger “5G antenna” cutout you mentioned is actually only reserved for millimeter wave (FR2) frequencies. I saw that you had the “5G UC” symbol on your test phone. That is signifying T-mobile’s 2.GHz (n41) 5G carrier, which is utilizing the regular six antennas around the phone and not the large “5G antenna”. Your test still shows that the new phone definitely has a better/new modem with a higher peak throughput. I’m interested in you testing the 14 pro’s larger 5G antenna off of a millimeter wave frequency small cell. Verizon’s millimeter wave 28ghz (n261) small cells are prevalent in most major cities now and currently give me a peak speed of up to 3.2gbps at best. I wonder if the new larger mmw antenna will make a difference in higher peak speed or maintaining the mmw signal further out since it’s usually pretty sensitive.

I’m sure it doesn’t help that I live in Alabama, where it can get extremely hot, but it should be a lot better. It sounds like the 14 is better but still a big disappointment.
